If they want a wide audiance, they will still need to sell to the 10 year old boys and the teenage girls.

Unfortunately, that is the sad truth about dubs, 10-year old minded consumers

I mean for the Japanese audiance first they will have to target the 10 year olds. The international crowd is outside such thoughts at first.

For the record, I have yet to see xizro345 say anything positive about Sailormoon at all. It's always "I hate, I hate, and I hate" I wouldn't take it to heart.

What? What's the problem with that? This will not be animated for adult consumption right?

Yeah... People outside are after the fan service.

That being said, I hate Sailormoon's dub. It's really terrible. If they do dub it, I want an ALL-NEW CAST who actually fit the characters and don't make them dumber than they already are like how the OLD cast did.
NO MORE VALLEY GIRL SENSHI, PLEASE!

..........what.....what the...

WHYYYYYY!?
I think a lot of that had more to do with the dub director than the actresses. With the proper direction, the old cast should do fine, especially if they've been doing dub work since then and therefore have upped their EXP

I really don't like the sound of some of their voices though. Like Terri is WAY too low to be Usagi. Even Naoko herself said so.

And it takes all the cuteness out of Usagi.

It depends, whether they want to appeal to new fans with a very short and plot-thin run (so they won't get confused by thinking too much), while avoiding to alienate the now very much adult old fans (who will get bored to death with more then 13 episodes)... or target exclusively the old fans with nostalgia, and watchable storyline... But don't worry, there is no chance that they will even imply something remotely close to the doujinshi published over the last decade and a half.

Ha, speak for yourself!!

I yearn for the days when there was no such thing as a 13-episode TV series!

My guess would be a 26 episode retelling of the first season plot. Basically the same story using modern production values and adjusted for a 2010s audiance rather than a 1990s audiance.

It will keep enough of the original to keep the older fans engaged, but try to make it pop enough to get the young people to watch it and buy stuff with their parent's money.

Its worked so far with Space Battleship Yamato 2199. It can work with Sailor Moon. If handled well.

Same here actually and they might end up using new VAs while at it.

They did that already in 2004.

Considering this is obviously backed by Tamashii Nations who would like as much character figurines potential as possible, they'll want those extra rangers the latter arcs bring.

I would assume that means the Live Action show of 2003-2004. Though it was 49 episodes.

Yes, there's already 3 versions of the first season in the manga, anime and live action. It's why I'd rather see a new season where the anime left off. I'd love to see them doing something with Sailor Cosmos, which was omitted from Stars.

Even if the anime has been delayed (for god knows how long), I think they should give us some details on the anime. Such as the overall story and it's direction (if it will be a retelling of the Anime, closely follow the Manga, or go off in it's own direction. I'm personally hoping it will follow the manga closely.), how many episodes or seasons they are aiming for, if they'll be trying to bring in some of the original voice actors of the anime, and other details. So far we're approaching one year since the announcement and yet we know nearly nothing about the anime. I understand if they can't show us a trailer or even some concept art for some time, but some additional info would be nice.

I'm already anxiously checking out Anime News network nearly every day for any new news on the anime, and slightly disappointed when there is no new info.

It has also been about ten years since the Live action series was on. There was a fourth version of the main story...the Musicals, which were also about ten years ago.
