Now that's a great battle twist: the Guren SEITEN and the Merlin, resurrected and ready to go against the good guys. On the other hand, with the advancements made since then, especially in regard to the Lanceren Mephisto, would they really be effective? As well, I think you should have included the Lancelot Albion as well, just to throw a curveball at Suzaku.
Besides all that, the battle is as intense as expected. I like how you made the Sutherlands appear as "zombies", in that even if their vital parts are hit they still keep on fighting. Combine that with the Geass civilization weapons and the whole battle almost reminds me of the final level of Mega Man Star Force 2 or Skies of Arcadia, where the main hero(es) infiltrate an landmass that's been brought back to life and forced to fight all the automated defense systems there. Truly eerie in my opinion. As well, the final scene made my heart jump a bit because it felt like Gino was about to bite it; in CG canon I wouldn't blink an eye if he died, but here, where he turned out to be a decent character, I would hate to see him make Amanda a widow so early. Still, I wonder how Lelouch and Kallen are going to fit into all this beyond the Geass resonance, if at all. |

The sutherland aren't really zombies, but just mechanized, then hit the cockpit is useless, a knightmare without the limit of a human pilot can be deadly.
The only way is detroy their engine to stop them. Now try to imagine the guren and the merlin without the human limit, however there's a motivation about the return of those two knightmares. |
