An average episode - there seemed to be three different plotlines running here. The one with Nagi and Maria, the one with Hina and Yukiji and the continuing plotline about Nagi's father. It's the third one that intrigued me the most, once again - though I do appreciate the parallel with Hina and Yuki's. The gag of someone becoming more dangerous than an armed thief has been done before, but I still find it worth a few laughs. The guy really had no idea what he was getting into, but the dine and dash sequence didn't quite have the manic energy I associate with this series. Wasn't bad, wasn't great, but the themes it brought up might have some payoff down the line, I figure.

The only saving grace for the series so far is the potential plotline for Nagi's father. Even Hina could not save this series at this point. The comedy is off the mark. The art, although improved, is still distracting. I'm a little sad. I love this franchise so much, but I'm getting disappointed after each episode. I'm still not sure what this random Ruka character keeps showing up and saying weird things.
They keep saying that Maria is so pretty, but it is as if they are trying to force you into believing it by repeatedly saying it. Her art is not that pretty, so to compensate, they keep trying to say it over and over to attempt to hypnotize you. Where is the pretty Maria in the previous series? I watch each week hoping that it gets better, but besides half the Hinagiku episode, the rest has been disappointing. *sigh*

Hmmm... Wasn't this in the manga? It felt so familiar for some reason.
I agree that the art did improve but still can't help but try to figure out the direction of this anime. I may be wrong, but I'm getting a theme about "family" in this anime after watching these past 5 episodes. However, if I really did want to watch an anime about family, I would be watching Clannad instead.

(Tsugumi replaced one of the male side character butlers, if anyone still remembers that ) Oh well at least the art didn't suck this time.

Hello there. Just checking this thread for a review since I already decided to drop it after the 3rd episode.

Alright, that was a pretty entertaining episode, had a few genuine laughs. Still wondering if it's bad that the opening is my favourite part of this series so far though.

Two major problems that I noticed is the ridiculously slow pace of the 'main plot'; we're at the 5th episode already, almost at the half mark point and it doesn't feel like it. The second problem is Tsugumi; while she is far from being my least favorite character of all time, I don't like how they're pigeonholing her into every episode- including scenes that doesn't belong to her... its almost as if they are trying their darnest to make her grow on us but neither those nor her original skits are doing anything to foster those feelings. Songwise I prefer the Ending theme.

Dine and dash, dine and dash. Dine full and dash fast.
The trick is that about patience and gobbling up. Order and order food while waiting for an opening whether be an excuse to answer the phone, feigning to go fetch everybodys' drinks, or going to the bathroom. An excuse pulled out with strategy to safely leave the table, and once reaching some safe distance, then run for it at full throttle leaving the rest to pay for the bill. But be quick as ordering continously amounts to the bill, and you never know when that SEELE-masked thief is going to struck the restaurant any moment. Another brute force strategy, if you become desperate, is to deliberately force yourself through the window by allegedly stating you trip while standing on the table, and you just break through to freedom. But remember boys and girls that kid sisters feel down when they watch their older siblings stealing from other people, if it happens on live in the TV news. As well, if it previously happened that the older sibling shamelessly asks to borrow money from their kid sisters, or having to ask money from loan sharks. |
