Getting into anime recently, I've been noticing a lot of otaku circles in certain anime, such as Haganai or the circles in OreImo. Is there anything like this in America?

You can probably find people at anime conventions.

Get looking for local Genshiken. I don't know how it is in the states, but in here where I live groups named "Genshiken" are usually pretty crazy
