Definitely a must watch spring anime, an office lady hero trying to kill a part time Maou using a 100yen knife, holy swords are overrated.
The only thing really bothering me were the pouting/angry faces of the hero and the coworker, it looked like their eyes would pop out any second. Aiming for world domination by becoming a full time MagRonald employee and amassing money and status.

I personally prefer Emi because I'm rather fond of Hikasa Youko, and Emi was a riot as throughout the episode she went from killing intent, to stalker, to being indebted to her sworn enemy. XD

I just hope they're going to limit the unsubverted romcom clichés to a minimum. In this ep I couldn't help but feel my interest take a dip when Maou & Emi were on top of each other, Emi was being a tsundere or Chiho was being jealous, and I can just see that the next episode will have Emi worrying about Chiho's boobs being larger than hers, bah. :/
(Btw, as for adult relationships, you do realize that Emi is 17 and Chiho is 16, right? ) |

Yes, I'm on the Emi-chan-crying-because-she-was-ignored-was-the-best-moment bandwagon. I also laughed when we could plainly see her looking in through the window and they were still ignoring her.
I have to say though, that whoever was shooting at them is a terrible shot. Lastly, I wonder if Office Lady Hero's coworker (her names escapes me right now) will play a bigger role in this show. Endless "I'll really kick the door in! Really!" Soul

Emi's tsunderness is cliche but what can I say I have a thing for love/hate relationships.
Also I think it adds to the idea of if this was another situation "we could have been friends". When the demon and hero are in their respected roles they have to hate each other, but now.... I am not really that keen on Chiho though because I am not sure how she fits into the story besides being a cliche (and it's one I am not fond of to begin with).

Inter-personal scenes are fine, I loved when Emi's attempt to defeat Maou was misunderstood as a lovers' tiff, or her tantrum outside Maou & Ashiya's room. But I really don't care for generic romcom "tsun tsun I'm totally not interested in you tsun tsun" scenes or catfights or "omg a girl with boobs bigger than mine" scenes... so I just hope we won't have many of these. Or, if we do, I hope they'll subvert them in some way.

Alciel is right, Mao has grown too soft (helping Emi and all). I wonder why. Could it be that working at McDonald MgRonald can tame even Satan, the greatest of all evil, and turn him into a decent man? If that’s the case, more people should work there. Scratch that, replace all prisons with McDonald MgRonald stands instead .

When Maou commented Emi isn't very hero-like, it got me to thinking just how did she manage to get all the paperwork in order to get an apartment and apply for a job. Did she also use hypnosis like Maou did? I guess we'll never know. I have this sneaking suspicion she sold her sword to finance her plushy lifestyle.

Nah, as a knight (and hero to boot) her sword is basically her pride and definitely much more precious than her own life. Even if the sword lost its power due to lack of magic in her current world, there's no way she would sell it

Beat me, I just realized that 100yen hero means Emi used 100 yen pocket knife to attack Maou-sama. As for Emi having a nicer job than Maou-sama is that (what I think) there might be much more demand for the job like helpdesk for attractive girl like her.
