It will be interesting to compare the sells of the current DVDs/BDs to volume 6 of MBA which will have episode 11 and 12 when they are released, hopefully if volume 6 sells well there could be a chance of a season 3.... not likely i know...

"Please brighten your future and detach yourself from reality when watching Kumagawa."
I love you Anshin'in. Nisio really took advantage of this being an anime original episode this time. The original character's powers and the subsequent showdown is something that only works best in this medium. The manga's 4th wall is already gone so it was a given that Anshin'in would bring down the anime's 4th wall as well. Also loved how they showed off some production materials: Spoiler for pics:
Long story short, best episode of the anime. |

I suppose this is what we came here to see. Maybe it's just because I'm stuck somewhere with not much better to do, but as soon as the episode ended, I immediately watched it again.
Also, is it just me or did they have a number of songs just for this episode? Not even counting the new opening theme? |

Hahaha holy fuck, that was awesome. Amazing way to put an end to the season. And I guess it could even be Nishio's way of telling us that that's the end of the anime. The manga world doesn't have any colour, after all :P.
Shit, why did Gainax even bother animating the manga chapters. Even just one cours of an anime to this level of quality would've kicked ass. They should've just let/gotten Nishio to write up a new script from the beginning. As it is, even this gem of an episode will be hardly watched by anyone. |

I'm not sure what to make of this last episode. I'm guessing from the previous posts that manga readers do appreciate this, but I have no clue why something so out there was thrown into the series as a finale. I was hoping for more Medaka, but I ended up with something weird and out of place. Oh well, I guess we will never see another continuation in the anime, given the pessimism from a lot of the posters here.
Personally, I did not think it was a good way to end the series.

Some full length shots to commemorate the last and best episode of the anime:
Spoiler for image sizes:
It still has colour pages and colour from the recycled paper itself. If anything it's the anime that can't go on anymore with all the colour taken out. I mean, they could still do it but a third season would just be audio on a white screen. |

I'm pretty sure the anime left in all the earlier references to Kumagawa. I guess I can understand anime viewers not giving them much weight, but things like "the man who always loses" have been a part of the story since before this season even. And like every single flashback involving a main character has shown Kumagawa in some form.

oh boy indeed total hi-jack & don't adjust just you saw cause it's now the Kumagawa show yea it's all screwed-up so much.
give more it's story introduce on focus Kumagawa with Ajimu sorta hi-jack the show so we get know of screw-job aka Kumagawa & fang teeth of saki. so let see paint person want take-out Kumagawa cause he "screwed" a female that paint person want payback seem hmm till good-bye all the colors means paint guy is SCREWED. so that all by look it's so open the door for s3 unless Gainax being Gainax.

This was definitely the swan song for the anime and Gainax went balls to the wall to please manga readers for the finale.
Ajimu spoils future events in the manga, look what's on the screen when Ajimu says she'll "be appearing sooner rather than later", the episode ends with Kumagawa sucking all the color out of the anime except for black and white. A clever reference to the fact that an anime can't continue without color but a manga can. At least it went out on such a high note. |
