Question Does anyone like Final Fantasy? What's your favorite FF OST?

OST is original soundtrack, but it doesn't have to be original. Just name your favorite. I do ask in advance, that replies are kept as short as possible. I will not expose details, but I don't wish to host a thread that is argumentative, defamatory, or infringing. Have fun!

I forgot the name of it, but my favorite is the music that's playing in FFIX while Zidane participates in Lindblum's Festival of the Hunt.

Yeah! I love that one. My labels are in Japanese, so I refer you to FFIX OST, disc 2, track 5. Am I correct?

i like the opening theme in final fantasy vi, when those "mecha" are marching through the snow, and then final fantasy vii's battle theme and when you are battling Jenova, and then Final Fantasy VIII when you go in Galbadia in the first time, and Final Fantasy Ix's "you are not alone"

there are way too many great FF tracks to list, imo, but my personal favorite is FFVIII (also the first one i have played)

I like that tune that apeared in alot of Final Fantasy games. You know before you press the start button. It's very soothing, very nostalgic, it's simply beautiful. ^^

Anyone knows what it's called?

I believe it is called 'The Prelude'. I also find that music soothing, annoying, but soothing.

Anyone knows what it's called?

The Prelude
or "Main theme" If I'm not wrong here, It was actually called the s.k main theme for the legend of the crystals a.k.a FF I-III later IV, V and VI (or not)

When I say LotC (Legend of the Crystals) Then I'm not talking about the OVA that came in the early 90's based on 5'th game. FFI-V were all based on the 4 crystals that were brought to earth a long time ago, by some aliens. It controlled the air/water/life etc.
This was taken by some history that you can grab from some games like FFV. Were the 4C (C = Crystals) were brought to earth to seal the evil Lord exdeath/Gilgamesh. My memory is a little cloudy, but was kinda the idea/purpose for the crystals in that game for example.

I'm also a fan of that song/track, since it has it's roots back too FFI.

To bad that they kinda removed it. Well..for example in FFVIII, it only came up during the ending scene/credits and for FFIX it was only played in an mix before you meet Trance Kuja, and when the "THE END" credits showed up. sniff... And for FFX it was only played/appeared (mixed) in the begining for the game, were you play Tidus before Sin attacks.

As for FFXII I dont really know, the game made me kinda disappointed so.

Well as for tracks/songs that I liked was (I still like em!):
The Prelude (found in most of them ^^)
Chocobo theme's and "Victory" Fanfares up to FFVII .
Jenovas theme or J-E-N-O-V-A's battle theme (FFVII)
Opening theme or "Terra's" theme from FFVI
Aerith's theme (FFVII) makes me cry~
Kata Tsubasa no Tenshi/One winged Angel? (FFVII)
The Man With the Machine Gun (FFVIII)
That theme/part fror the endings which appeared during the ending scenes/credits found in FFVII-FFX only.
Seymour Battle theme (final) found in FFX
Auron's theme (FFX)
Kuon-Hikari To Nami No Kioku and Wind Crest ~The Three Trails~ (both found in FFX-2 and + Last mission version, a.k.a main theme for both games)

Well the list is long, this however is on the top favorites.

Wanna talk more about Final Fantasy or other Square(soft)/Enix games, Pm me

Aww thank you for great explanation of the Prelude song. It's been bugging me for a while. I know it for a long time, yet I have no idea what it's called. But when I hear that song, I would imediately goes, "Oh!!! someone playing Final Fantasy!" ^_^

Is that the Sephiroth theme? The one in Kingdom Heart when you fight Sephiroth and also in Advent Children when Sephiroth appeared. That song is very cool. ^_^

Woo! Another OC Remix fan, huh? Thought I'd be all alone. I'm a pretty big Protricity fan myself, even with all his "personality faults." His Cursed Pirates mix is a very good one IMO.

As for strictly OSTs, my favorite is definitely FF6 followed closely by FF9. FF6 wins period because of all the memorable tracks, even though I haven't played it in such a long time. Some specifics include Cyan's theme, Terra's theme and Dancing Madly: the greatest final boss battle theme known to man.

I've recently played through FF9 again so the tracks are much more familiar. My favorite is still Rose of May (Beatrix's Theme / Red Rose theme) followed closely by Melodies of Life and Jesters of the Moon for when I'm feeling clever and tricky.
