So that's how the chicken is part of the story? Good job Haru! Wonder what else he'll save...

Seriously though, this chicken song.

Same person did one for episode one as well, guess I'll keep linking to them if they keep doing it (never seen anyone do a manga to anime comparison quite like this).

Wow that's a really cool comparison. And from those scenes it seems the anime is doing a really good job of capturing the same feel as the manga. I am impressed.

Although I have only watched ep 1, I found myself enjoying the adaptation - it felt like it plain "worked" for me and somehow had an "unpretentious" quality too it. As far as manga source material I find that while I enjoy the written story proper and actively follow it, I enjoy Kamisama no Hajimemashitte the most and then Suki Iitayo after that, but for me the first ep of the adaptation of Kaibutsu had more impact on me than Kamisama did ... well, fwiw.

Just got around to the second episode and it was just as good as the first. Natsume was adorable with her reactions. I hope they keep this pace up throughout...

Nope, don't share those views in the least. Maybe I'm biased since I like the manga, but there's some manga that I liked when went to anime were crap.

As for Haru. There's a reason he acts the way he does but I doubt it'll get explained this season unless they fast forward a lot source material since it's just now being explained in the past few recent chapters of the manga. To each his own I suppose...

This show really isn't doing it for me.

To be frank, the problem is with Haru. He's so pants on head socially retarded that he doesn't even come across as a likable character. I mean, one moment, he's needy for companionship and the next he's beating the snot out of random people and the next he's exposing his genitals. That's just, well, randomly autistic.

Although I have to admit that the chicken (rooster?) was the cutest chicken that I have ever seen in anime.

Eating food: I used to be able to eat more than that. Not anymore since I started working.

Monjayaki: It's closer to a runny pancake with toppings. I personally prefer okonomiyaki (which is firmer), but then it might be my Kansai bias.

A few girls I knew back in their teen days could eat as much or even more than a lot guys and still are as thin a needle. It is what happens when some are blessed with ultra-high metabolism. As a side note, the girls that I know that don't eat usually don't exercise either, so there might be something there.

I'm wondering if they are introducing a new person an episode, since Shizuku mentioned so many different people in the intro to episode one? The show has been fun and entertaining so far, even if it has not stood out. Actually, I think they have introduced 2 new characters an episode.

Very cool comparison between manga and anime. You can clearly see how the director tweaked the scenes just enough to make them more dynamic but stayed faithful to the overall positioning and feel of the scenes.

Animators are really amazing.

Well, about the food, I have been blessed with ultra-high metabolism, so I can eat as much as I want (though I also do excercises... sometimes). Ever since I started going to University, it's like I'm constantly hungry, so I know that when I have the chance, I can eat a LOT. I know other people like that as well, so it's not that much of a surprise that a girl can eat that much and still look slim

About the characters... Yes, two very important characters were introduced this episode: Natsume and Sasayan. While it's clear who our main characters are, I think calling these two "supporting" would be sort of wrong, they're... "main-ish" They will appear in, well, almost every episode I think and they each have their own story line and such, so they're important. At the beginning of the first episode 5 characters were introduced (I won't count the chicken XD ) Natsume, Sasayan, Haru and two others (one of them was in the very first episode btw). The other two are supporting and we will get to know them better soon enough

On a side note, when I watched the beginning of the 1st episode, when they showed Natsume, it was a scene from the 26th chapter... 1 chapter = 1 episode, so, if they are gonna show that, exactly how many episodes will there be?

I am glad to hear Sasayan is going to have a bigger role. From the brief scenes we got of him, I really had a good feeling about him.

Usually I'd be shitting all over someone like Haru or a show for thinking it could get away with making someone socially moronic but intellectually smart.

Too bad I don't care! Two episodes in and they've already both said those three words?

Sign me up, I'm in for the long haul.

Well, geniuses in real life tend to lack social skills as well at a young age, since they see things in a different perspective than most other people, and they do recognize that they are different. The biggest thing, however, is that they usually are not in the position of beating up other people.

Does the "Mitty" thing just come from Mizutani, or is there a deeper meaning?

Yes, those were the best scenes

While Haru is really well-meaning, he has no sense of tact whatsoever.

Asako is a good addition. She seems to have a serious problem though, when 32 (out of 100) is the best grade she ever had... Also, that's already enough to pass the make-up test?

That is why I like the addition of Natsume. She is an interesting element to the group and I think just romance could get old. We will see where they go with this.
Yes, while they're an uncanny pair, focusing on the two only could get a bit stale.
It's good that there are more characters introduced, and I hope there will be more still besides Asako.

What, they made the site for real? That's crass! XD
Although I can't see the last entry that Asako wrote at the end of the episode, which sounded a little strange, almost like Voodoo or something...

Just coming by to say that the anime version of the bottom left picture is my favorite scene from the series so far. So funny and cute.
