I can't believe only one person said Howl's Moving Castle so far. Maybe not many people have seen it or something... but it definitly tops my list of miyazaki films. Next would either be whispers of the heart, or kiki's delivery service.

For other movies, it would have to be the Cowboy Bebop movie, or Perfect Blue.

I find it amazing that there's soooo many different anime and ova out there, but hardly any large production anime movies. Except for movies from popular series. Where are the other Miyazaki's out there?

For me I think I will go for Air The Movie because it has a very dramatic storyline that will make you cry. Animation designs were top notch. They don't look a little kiddy-ish like the TV series.

Another one is Ah My Goddess! The Movie. Simply stunning...enough said

My choice doesn't really classify as anime ... but if Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children is anime then I guess this one counts as well ...
Final Fantasy... it was probably made entirely on a computer ... but damn it looked good ... and the soft ghost story was nice ... go intergalactic ghost army ... lol

No, you're not the only one.
Laputa and Porco Rosso are the two of my favorite theatrical anime of all time.
One of Doraemon movies, Nobita no Kaitei Kiganjou is also one of the all-time faves.

I'm divided between End of Evangelion, Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind and Wings of Honneamise. At least those are my top three, I'm not just sure what order.

The non anime series based movies I havewatched is extremlymly limited hardly around 10 . Out of those my picks would be

- Grave of Fireflies

- Spirited Away

Out of the movies based on an anime series would be .

- One Piece Movie IV : Adventure of Dead End

I really loved the anime and story of this movie . Its even a good movie for an orignal

That's no tough decision for me. The best anime movie I have seen is certainly Whisper of the Heart.

Porco Rosso and Mind Game which nobody has mentioned, why is that? I could never understand why this unique film has gotten so poor reception out of Japan, even inside the anime circles.

Mononoke Hime may be the best movie so far and it runs more than two hours, thanks to Studio Ghibli......

BTW, FFVII Advent Children also nice......

Definitely a tie for me between Ghost in the Shell and Princess Mononoke. Honorable mention goes to Angel's Egg for being the biggest mind **** I have ever watched. I like Mamoru Oshii but some of his movies are just brutal to sit through.

Surprise surprise

Macross: Do You Remember Love? Everything I loved about Macross in super condensed form with an alternate plotline. Roy's death was much more spectacular, Minmay gets what's coming to her and I love the OST.
