DS may excel in those simpler games, but complex 3D mecha action games for DS is fail.

You people don't keep up with Japanese sales charts, do you...?

The DS MURDERS every other console, handheld or otherwise, in Japan. Developers want money and thus = Gundam 00 on DS.

That's probably because DS has more releases. That could be a bad thing too.

The Xbox 360 has more releases than the Wii or PS3. Doesn't make it popular in Japan.

Face it people, the DS = cheap to make games for (1/20th the cost of a typical PS3/360 game) = high market penetration = more profits.

Gundam 00 DS site pre-opens

Now up here. Additionally, Edigi Games has some pics and further info: As part of the content of the game, there's a Gunpla Navi, which has easy to use & understand photos, tips for putting together your models better, and advice on kits. And thanks to connections with Bandai's Hobby Division, people who reserve the game will get a limited edition "Gundam Exia rollout colors" Gunpla newly created for this occasion.

So since you keep up with Japanese sales charts, I'd like to ask how well did Gundam titles for the DS sold in the past? Based on this announcement I assume Gundam titles sold better in the DS than the PSP?

More on Gundam 00 DS

Famitsu.com put up some screens of the four Gundams in the game as well as its Gunpla Navi mode.

Amiami posted a shot of some promotional info. There'll be about 80 missions, characters will include voiceovers, and new MS that haven't been in the TV series will appear.

Edit: Amazon Japan says the game will come with a FG Gundam Exia in rollout colors

SD Gundam Portable and SD Gundam Crossfire sold about the same amount (250,000), though SD Gundam DS didn't even reach 100,000 copies.

I'd say its a toss up between the two, and DS happens to make more sense because 20 million of them have been sold in Japan.

Should have been 2D or made for the PSP. 3D on DS just rarely works

Cross Drive, not crossfire.
PSP got better Gundam titles though, like Rengou versus Zaft portable and the Battle series.

As shown above, DS didn't get ANY regular (action-oriented) Gundam titles, so the only point of comparison would be the SD Gundam games.

But still, the point this game generation is to support as many consoles/handheld as you can in order to make the most money. So its about time for a DS Gundam game.
