New Page 10: Gag and Serious

My hunch tells me this is going to be long arc bringing milestones and hardships for the Ashirogi Muto duo. They started with Miura trying his hardest to get them serialized with a gag manga, but the boys are pretty much convinced that is not their forte in narration and literary style.

I would be a hypocrite to say that since manga is a gamble-based industry, then the boys must cope with the pros and cons of their taken gamble, acknowledging that friction with the editor is one amongst the pros and cons.

My real feelings are rooting for the boys to do serialize what is their strength, because I do also empathize with that type of frustration. Getting too rushed and reckless and not liking in the least that my upperclassman or boss tries to slap on me that "this" or "that" way of doing the job is the most suited when I already grasped the how I can work things out with my own pace.

However, Hattori makes a valid point that while is fair game for the mangakas to argue against their editors, still the role and position of the editor cannot be compromised given how late they submitted two storyboards to Miura, and the boys fighting back as well by submitting a manuscript to be judged by Niizuma at the future monthly magazine contest without Miura's knowledge and consent.

This would be a battle of foolhardiness and epic determination between mangaka vs editor in this arc, because the boys are following their hunch on what their doing is right based on opinions of their rival while Miura can back-up his assertiveness on which manga genre for them to follow by relying on the data from the surveys.

Except that Future Watch did better than Hitman 10 in the surveys.

Great to see good work rewarded - JC Staff has done some of their best work with this 2nd season.

Wonder what chapters season 3 will cover.

Then again, I'm not even sure where this season might end, if only cause I don't remember every story arc from the manga.

That's fantastic news, as this is easily one of my favourite shows ever.

Speaking of which though does anyone else think that they'll end this season

Spoiler for Manga Chapter #:

P.S. If this was brought up before, I apologize.

Well, at least their career is moving forwards.
Things are still hanging for now.
I totally want them to get serialized soon.
Miura is not a good editor for them.

I can't even tell you how much that ep pissed me off. I was literally shouting at the screen.

Finally caught up with the last 4 episodes.
I do agree that Miura is wrong for forcing his ideas but I can't fully agree with Mashiro either. I personally didn't like the idea behind Future Watch at all... it sounds cliche and I'm sure I have already see a similar setting somewhere.
Howevre, it is true that Takagi is much better at serious stuff and should go with it. Besides if author hates his story, it will never be good.
But what about the 3rd story? The idea is also familiar but despite that it still sounds interesting. At least I like it far more than other 2.

You mean "Two of Me"? I've been thinking that too - it's lurking in the weeds, forgotten.

I actually like the idea behind "Future Watch". Of course similar themes have been done but I thought it was an interesting twist.

BTW - "Hideout Door" is the focus on today's WSJ at the website.

I dunno, a travel in time by just 7 minutes doesn't sound fun... I would expect a lot of power ups and random, unbelievable tricks to get everything right.
I mean, if the character were to witness a building exploding, do you believe 7 mins would be enough to stop it? I would expect a huge ass pull there. Though it is refreshing that the character can talk to himself without any time paradoxes.

Their editor totally crossed the line this time.
I still don't get why don't they just ditch him & go back to Hattori.
Miura is a failure as an editor.
