I too had to double check to see if shaft wasn't the studio for this so I'm not surprised to see that the director has worked for shaft before.
Anyway I enjoyed this quite a bit, especialy the male lead. Will keep watching.

Episode 1:
- Checked this out because everyone says its very SHAFT...but I thought it wasn't really that SHAFT. Nonetheless it was interesting, despite the pacing not fast enough to my liking. The girls are cute. The main guy doesn't refer to zombies as "zombissu". Will probably watch the next episode.

Now will be interesting to see how another ex SHAFT member in Shin Onuma and SILVER LINK handle Tasogare Otome x Amnesia which has been compared to this manga for a long time. Last edited by Westlo; 2012-04-06 at 10:51. Reason: over the time instead of over the top.. fail |

There's like a 7 year gap betwwen him producing hentai (and some good ones too...) and him working for shaft. Did he really do nothing in those years? I'm wondering if it's that person doesn't go by yet another name we don't know of.

Zombie Side-B 01 - ...
The premise looked interesting enough, and it is from the creator of Umisho, one of the first anime series I watched, and enjoyed, for its humor and nudity. That's one versatile author. Some of it rests on the anime's back, but the sheer difference in color palette between this and that is impressive. I do see some of the author's trademarks, but otherwise, it's a complete 180 from the world I knew before. I suppose this and KoreZom will serve nicely as two different sides of the zombie coin (not good legal tender) - the comedy and the drama, the light and the dark, the male and female. Rea's fairly lively, despite everything going on, and I like Wanko already. TBS shows are usually of pretty good quality, and this delivers. |

The kid lost his pet cat & decided to resurrect it.
His efforts were admirable, but with that sort of thing stuff always goes wrong. Kinda reminded me of Occult Academy on some level. Rea's unfortunate family situation lead her to become a test subject by chance LOL This has potential. Will be watching it.

I like nano-RIPE. There may have a bit of a rough sound, but they make music with a bit of oomph to it, unlike the pablum of a lot of anime music. Then again, many people's mileage may vary, since I thought Shinsei Komatta-chan's OP for Denpa Onna was the best of last year, lol.
Thanks to Westlo and totoum, I looked around for the director's other name (小俣真一) and found he seems to have continued to produce hentai, right up to two apparently released last November. He is listed as producer for a number of hentai anime from vanilla. He is also listed for shows done by Phoenix ten-plus years ago. I came across a discussion in which his work as storyboarder/director for MadoMagi 8 was praised highly, to the point that one person thought he might be Shinbou under an alias.

He's used aliases to storyboard episodes of shows he's directed and to work on hentais. Of course we've got absolutely no proof.
