It's fun to see an anime cat that actually acts like a cat. Although I used to have a cat that tolerated baths rather well, so long as you did not pour water directly on his head.
And Chi's voice sounds very familiar-pumo. Why is that, I wonder-pumo? |

Oh I absolutely love this series (what I saw of the anime and read of the manga). At first I was a little disappointed that the episodes were so short but now I think they are the perfect daily dose of cuteness. What more can you ask for?
Another thing is having two cats of my own. I can say a lot of the things they do get right. |

Just a quick post to say that today's episode of Chi, isn't an episode of Chi.
Chi's Sweet Home will be airing Monday-Thursday. On Fridays there will be Chi's Sweet News, which is footage sent in by viewers of their own pet cats. To be clear, we will not be subbing the Chi's Sweet News episodes as they are unrelated to the anime. Yet to see if they're officially counted as episodes or not, but for us, episode 5 airs on Monday.

And I just wanted to chime in about my kitty: she's a rescued kitten and she doesn't mind baths. She's a longhair and unfortunately, sh*t gets stick to her hind end sometimes, so she gets a bath about every fortnight or so. She doesn't *love* them or anything, but she just stands there, tolerating it until I'm done and she can go undo the damage by licking herself all over. Heh. Spoiler for for gratuitous kitty pic:

"Washing a cat is quite a chore."
Yes, this is preposterously cute. And quite involving for a 3 minute (!) title. And most importantly, it "gets" cats - all the little details are right on the button, and I speak as a lifelong cat owner. I especially love how the pupils in Chi's eyes get huge when she (he?) sees the shoelace - that's a very cat thing. |

I'm surprised all my teeth haven't fallen out from all the sweetness from this series.
though i must confess that i mistaken this series as a chobit spin-off. while after a moment of hindsight, she was called "Chii" and not "Chi" oh well, absolutely distaste cats and i have to say it is a mutual feeling since they have no trouble sinking their claws into me if i pay any attention to those furballs. Must have Dog written all over me or something, (love dogs). but talking animated cats just hit the spot. shame it's under 5mins. even REC was just over 10mins i think that would be better.

So there IS a topic for this show on this forum! Glad to hear that I'm not hte only one watching it
Although I'm totally a 'dog person' this show is just too cute to resist Also it's rather sad that nowadays, a 3 minute show can move me more than some drama heavy anime >.>

Episode 5:
This was a really cute episode. I love how similar Youhei and Chi are. But I have to say I am not sure how accurate this is. Unlike dogs you don't really have to potty train cats. If you put them in the litter they just know that's where they go. It's almost like instinct. But a kitten peeing on things it's not supposed to is pretty funny so I forgive them. |

Good, I'm glad someone is subbing this. It's especially appealing of you have cats yourself (especially one that sleeps on your monitor while you watch it), since you're reminded of your own cats. I like that the opening is just about eating and sleeping.
Yeah, for the most part, cats learn to go to the litter box on their own. A younger kitten may very well have accidents, and Chi seems pretty little. At first I was wondering where the cat had gone to the bathroom before the newspapers were set down, but I kinda fanwanked it that the husband had gone out to get some actual litter and that's why he hasn't been there for the last 6 minutes. One thing that makes me twitchy is all the milk they've been feeding her. Never give cow milk to kittens, it makes them sick.
