Erina's dad looks like darkness reincarnated. Gives me the creeps. But seeing her growing up without a single friend (except for her secretary) and get loads of adult responsibility dumped on her, it's no surprise that her parents turn out suck. What kinda parents letting their daughter do that!!

In fact, I'm even more convinced of it with the involvement of Souma's dad. The senior Mr Yukihira's creed is to "have a special person for whom you wanna cook" - in that sense, his dishes probably tasted like warmth and kindness, maybe even parental love, to Erina's colorfully imaginative palette. It's especially more impactful if her own parents' dishes were cold and estranged.

Do note that Jouichiro didn't use to cook like this; Fumio even remarked how his cooking had changed after sampling his morning ramen - it probably has to do with him meeting Souma's mom at some point of the past.

No, go read it again; on the very last page, there's a black-haired guy in a suit that both Erina and Hisako are scared of, and Erina calls him her father. That guy is her father. And Jouichiro is Souma's dad, the guy with long red hair. Don't mix them up.

@M.A.D: I think you mean that her dad is "darkness incarnate". Reincarnation and incarnation are two different concepts/things. But yeah, I do agree with you.

I have a crack theory that Asura's (Souma's dad) expulsion from the academy has something to do with Souma's mother. (He mentioned that he never graduated from the school)

Something like he met Souma's mom and they got into some conflict. The mom was a cook and they may have conflicting views in regards to cooking. They may had a Shokugeki and Souma's dad somehow lost. He probably betted that he'll give up graduating from the academy. I mean Gin knew the name 'Yukihira' but the others don't.

When he got out of the academy, Jouichiro continued to challenge Souma's mom countless times. As time went on the Asura tried to learn from Souma's mom and they got into romance in some way.

Are we sure "Asura" is Jouichirou's nickname and that it's not somebody else? Also, I'm pretty sure Jouichirou only said he left Tootsuki. There's been nothing mentioned about an expulsion. We don't know if he was expelled or if he just left Tootsuki at the end of the year without actually graduating. But yeah, you could be right. Let's just wait and see.

If it is an expulsion because of shokugenki then it would be very famous in school legend but no one say anything about that.

Maybe there a reason for leaving, maybe not. But Gin knew about 'Yukihira'? I don't remember there was such detail. Gin only see through Souma's style of cooking, who affect him, that's all.

Besides, Jouichiro has Souma when he was 23, he left school around 17-18 so it took him 4-5 years to meet Souma's mom and interact with her. By this amount of time, she already graduated if she was a student in school. Thus, they can't have any shokugenki if both of them no longer in the same school.

But I don't think the school legend could be a mistake. Even Fumio-san called him Asura.

I was trying to tell Bh88 who Erina's father is because he/she seems to have missed it in the latest chapter. Please help me out here.

I'm pretty sure Gin made the connection between Souma and Jouchirou starting from when he saw him walking with the same style as Jouichirou, with the same style of holding his bag over his shoulder. Then he looked at school records and files and was able to somehow notice from that that Souma is Jouichirou's son.

Well, Leonora, Alice and him have that silver/white hair(though in him its minimal), considering that Leonora is not born as a Nakiri, there is a chance the he might not be either.

Alice's father has black hair and I'm quite sure Erina's dad has black hair too. I guess they both take after their moms.

@Endscape: Yeah, they do seem to both take after their moms. And said moms must then be Nakiris from birth, which would also mean that Erina's grandfather, the Academy's Headmaster, is probably her maternal grandfather. Or in other words, her grandfather from her mother's side. Although I guess we should wait for confirmation from the manga?

No, Leonora isn't a Nakiri from birth, her husband, who is, has black hair like Erina's dad meaning they're likely brothers, and the Academy's headmaster is her paternal grandfather.

We saw Leonora's husband in a flashback when she foodgasmed from Souma's yakitori gohan, and he had black hair. We've seen Erina's dad and he had black hair.
