O-O Hayate's 5'9!!

Hayate's one of the shortest nonloli members of the cast! Sankt Kaiser Vivio is the tallest female cast member. Your calculations are way way way off.

Edit: For the record Hayate is 4'11 not 5'9

Remember, Hayate has Japanese genes, which most likely means she's already short(no racism intended here...). If you include the years of slightly stunted growth from the BoD eating into her... There's no way she's 5'9

There are centimeter measurements for almost all the characters there. (sans numbers who are all medium to tall in height except for loli cinque)
Your guesses are all either way too tall or way too short. (leans on the way too tall side though, think Japanese heights not western heights)

Hayate grew somewhere between 20 and 30 cm in 10 years. She was only about as tall as Vita in As. (as was Nanoha and Fate)

I'm telling you that your heights are just plain wrong. They're based mostly on inapplicable western standards.

As Nanya said if she was about Vita's height (4'0) during A's then she grew 9 inches between A's and StrikerS.

And everyone's full-adult sizes are as short as or shorter than my 15-year-old sister? (...okay, bad example; Melanie is VERY tall for her age, around 5'10", but you get the point that I mean the AVERAGE American mid-teen)

The average height for an American female is 5'4 and male is 5'9 fully grown.

Compare to the average 5'2 for Japanese females and 5'71/2 for men.

PS - I'm eyeballing it, but Adult Vivio looks like 172cm~174cm with her heels of death if we go by that fan-made chart. Too lazy to actually check if she's taller than Verossa or not.

...I used a combination of basic observation/comparison combined with the official character heights of Mahou Sensei Negima as age-to-height reference (discarding Kaede & Mana, skyscrapers that they be; Negi & Kotaro are 10-year-old boys and are both around 1.4 meters; Evangeline is tiny at biologically 10 and only 1.3 meters, but since she was born in the Middle Ages when people were shorter she makes sense; I assumed most of the rest of the girls of Class 3-A were average height for their ages (14-16) and extrapolated from there for various other media like Nanoha and Higurashi). Which step caused the massive clusterfrak of mistakes?

Well, Hayate wasn't exactly super-short in As, and when laying down, she and Vita were about the same height, give or take a few inches. By the StrikerS chart, Hayate's 150 CM tall and Vita's 122 CM tall, which means that Hayate, if she was, say... 120 CM tall, grew 30 CM in 10 years.

Which is... *Does the calculations* not even a whole foot in ten years. Just over 11 inches.

Er, laying down? Whatever you mean, Hayate looks a head taller.

30cm in 10 years sounds fine from 9 → 19.
10cm from 15 → 19 is what I'm iffy about because I don't know how Hayate's legs work. :B

Bleh, trying to figure out a height chart when we've only been given two exact measurements.
- If Rein is 30cm and her shoes give her 2.43cm, everyone is slightly shorter.
- If Rein is 30cm with the shoes on, everyone.... is still slightly shorter than what the chart makes them out to be.

Or something. Jeebus, should not be touching the computer with 9 hrs of sleep over three days.

.... lol @ heights anyway. I have a friend who's grown 15cm from 14 → 16. I've maybe grown 10cm at the most from 12 → 19. And we're both female Asians with ethnic backgrounds where the height average is shorter than the average Japanese female.

I went from 9 -> 19 for my basis, not the epilogue of As, since I don't have a ton of pictures to compare to.
