The rental DVD version of the Sword Art Online: Ordinal Scale anime film debuted on Tuesday with a new intro text screen added before film starts. The new text confirms that the film's post-credits scene is a teaser trailer for an upcoming "new work." The original theatrical version of the film already included the teaser after the ending credits, but it did not have this new intro text screen. In the teaser, a character mentions, "Welcome to Rath." The "Dengeki Bunko Aki no Saiten 2017" event's Sword Art Online stage panel will have announcements for new developments in the franchise, including but not limited to games. http://www.animenewsnetwork.cc/inter...nipple/.121298 The Sword Art Online: Ordinal Scale film hit shop shelves as a rental DVD in Japan on Tuesday. Some fans hurried to pick up a copy to confirm whether the bath scene reveals Asuna's "assets." Fanboys in Japan are rejoicing because the rental release does include a brief reveal of Asuna's nipple around the 25:52 mark as she is getting out of the bath. The scene also reveals the popular character's rear end. The anime film's staff said during an interview published in July that the Blu-ray Disc release of the film could have an upgraded bath scene with more detail. During the interview, Ito said that both a version that shows Asuna's nipple and a version that doesn't were made. Additionally, he suggested that the reveal was very slight. Seen it now.
A game where you fight raid bosses in the real world with your own body could never function as advertised, but something like that is at least plausible, whereas I found the VR games of the anime completely ridiculous. Still..these characters are clearly meeting PHYSICAL RESISTANCE when clashing with an AR monster, or hitting each other with AR weapons. How? HOWWW?? I loved the boss fights, but this always bothered me. Anyways, the anime got a lot better for me when they moved to the real world, and this movie follows up on that nicely. Brilliant direction! Not only that, the story was actually pretty interesting. There's plenty of cameos for all characters, there's a couple of new ones who were cool, the music was good, the animation work just about flawless, Kirito finally stops being a playboy and focuses on Asuna...good! I'm astonished, actually. I used to be a mild hater of SAO, and yet this is now one of my favorite anime movies. One might be forgiven for thinking A-1 pictures has become a studio that just churns out mediocre crap, but apparently when they get serious, it's still something to behold.
