They tend to survive better against the enemy or at least you need to retreat a little less, no ? Given the penalty of transport fleet, especially evasion and accuracy, wouldn't a higher level DD have better chance of not getting critically damaged ?

Of course higher leveled is always better from a survivability standpoint (although at some point the marginal gain isn't much), however, you asked how many one should have. In other words, how many are necessary and you can get by with the number Klashikari's named. If you have the possibility, level up as many as you can, no problem. Without counting any Mutsuki-class I got 17 DDs above level 90 and 31 above level 80.

That's a little more than I; without counting the Mutsuki-class, I got 19 over 90 but only 27 at level 80 or more. Oddly enough, if not of their general lower stats my Mutsuki-class Lv is good between 91( Mikazuchi) to 98 (Mutsuki), mostly from expeditions.

Well, I'm not too focused on leveling DDs, so they are comparatively lower leveled. Only grind them when there is a Kai Ni that is not at sufficient level yet. Usually I'm just sticking one I want to level right now into PVP duties. Seldomly push them past 90.
Since I was ranking a lot this past half year my other classes are pretty up high. Leaving out DDs and subs I got 53 at 99 or higher, 61 at 90 or higher and 71 at 80 or higher.

I am not worried much about the other class; I don't rank at all but I have played for long enough than a good umber of each type of ship have reached Lv97 or more, even CL which might be, with CVL, the one class of ship we might need the lower number, excluding specialised ship like AV, Taigei, HAyasui etc...

Cripes, I think it's impossible to rank on my server unless you play something like 10 hours a day at 5-4 AND finish all the extra ops. I've done everything up to 4-5, and I'm still at the 4000+ rank mark.
At this point, I'm not sure it's worth the bother, unless the reward equips REALLY give you a leg up on the next event. Where do these guys even get the resources and time to do all this?

All EO gives 780 points overall. Assuming you need 1900 points to be in top500, that requires 1120 points with sorties. That's approximately 510-515 sorties spread in 1 month. If you do 18-20 sorties per day, you are fine.

Did you guys ever got sick of Kancolle? I used to play the entire day, but now I'm just so lazy and I barely play anymore, I just enter to send expeditions and that's it... I really like this game, but recently I got sick of it. ;_;

It did happen to me a few time, it lasted usually about 1 to 2 day. Now, my ''activeness'' is kind of variable, depending of the situation, hectic at the beginning of the month, mostly expeditions and quests before a event, active leveling after each event.

I think you're suffering from burnout. My advise is to step back, and prioritize what you want to accomplish in the game, or else you're gonna enter a downward spiral.
For me, it's always: be ready as I can for the next event. I play a lot, though that "lot" really now depends on my work schedule. See my complaints about ranking? Yeah it's related to that, as I'm finding it nearly impossible to rank because of my job.

I'm 50-50 on Haruna's, to be honest.
Ring status: Safe. She's lucky Yamato isn't also level 99 or someone else from my 99ers list gets a CG.

Nah, it's just that I felt I had something to write while drawing a lot of inspiration from the CG. Besides I was not really serious about that. Well, there are more sensible reasons that I have that doesn't involve the CG (like the date being a year since I started playing - though to be exact my start date was on July 30 2015, as well as Haruna being my first battleship and has helped me carry on with the fleet for the majority of times since I started). The CG is just icing on top for me.
Now that I'm properly snapped out of my trance I guess I can finally continue writing my story without minding these too much.
