Rivals maybe, but allies and friends above all. That is most important, and after last season I hope they remember it. They seem to be, but you never know.

I still say it seems counterproductive to make these girls compete against each other when they need teamwork against the totalitarian regime that's trying to crush them.

So, season 2 is not afraid to jump headfirst into the action. As usual DES eventually gets their butts kicked, but things were a little tenser this time, and it's also looking like there's a deeper plan going on behind the scenes with those in power in the DGTO.

I watched the early release of episode 1, but it definitely was better to watch the episode in higher quality.
(Mainly because the audio and video of the early release I watched on web was off though!)

Wonder if Nagisa is the only one who had that dream/vision. Yuuko definitely not backing down was nice to see. SHe just issued her challenge. THough it was unfortunate that they were captured, but Chieri probably just boosted her chances at the election. Liked how they showed Nagisa's father during the whole thing. Nice action packed ep to start things off.

Having seen basquash's perfectly good plot going down the gutter (quite literally) at the half point and rinne no lagrange going stale in season 2, I was afraid AKB would follow the same pattern. Once again, this show has managed to blow away all my expectations by doing what it does best: Actually trying.

And being CRAZY AWESOME in the end.

She's confident now. She doesn't have to question whether she has a right to be there, or whether the kirara really meant to be with Nagisa instead of her. She knows she's an idol now, even though she hasn't been chosen as a successor yet, and that's all she needed to let her spirit shine.

I rolled my eyes when the judge said 48 years in prison, but it was a pretty darn fun episode. Definitely a good way to start the season with a bang, but I'm honestly more looking forward to later episodes when the pace slows down a bit and we get some more development on... well, everything. Center Nova, General Elections, Zodiac Corp, daddy issues... they set up a lot of stuff this ep (not to mention the threads left from the previous season) and I'm eager to see where they go.

Seems like he is part of a group that is trying to convince the government to accept entertainment again. On a side note, when you suddenly get attacked by 300 akb0048 members, the judge can't help but utter "what is this madness!" __________________

Mura Now or Never Join Date: Jan 2012 Age: 37	Spoiler for Episode 14: Yuuko was pretty awesome in this episode imo. She made herself clear to everyone where she stands and she isn't backing down. I didn't expect that everyone would become rivals in the first episode too, I like that move since it sets up what the majority of this season will be about. Oh and I already hate Chieri's father. Using his own daughter like that is despicable. __________________

Spoiler: There's no point in a summary trial like that if all they're rushing them off to is a prison sentence. They could be rescued from prison just as easily as from the court. While I'm glad they weren't actually planning on outright executing these underaged girls when they got their hands on them, that behavior was still suspicious. And suspicious for a reason, as it turns out. So, Chieri's father is studying the Kirara Effect, hmm? Not good. Also, that was a dick move on his part. While it would have made her harder to rescue (and thus would have been bad from our perspective) he could have pulled her out of that trial. I have no doubt of that. It's been made clear he has that kind of pull. And it wouldn't even have looked suspicious. Saving his daughter from that sort of punishment? You'd expect it. No, instead he just left her there. Better from our perspective, but it makes it plain where his priorities lie. Dick. Move. So, season 2 is not afraid to jump headfirst into the action. Yes, the rescue mission seemed too easy as cake, but with so many cameras, isn't it giving the DGTO an opportunity to study the girls' tactics and then use something against them? As far as Chieri's "dad" is concerned, makes me think if she's probably a test-tube baby or a result of a genetic experiment... some sort of a secret weapon. __________________

Once again, this show has managed to blow away all my expectations by doing what it does best: Actually trying. And being CRAZY AWESOME in the end. Spoiler for Episode 14: Where do I even begin? I guess the beginning would be a good place. Certainly didn't expect to start this season with Nagisa having such an ominous dream (ominous to who, though?), but it definetly woke me up, and good thing, because the next 6 minutes or so were a true festival of color, music and non-creepy CG animation. That's what I call starting with a blast. And what a great way to announce the return of the center nova. Of course, the main highlight of the episode is that we actually saw some of the girls getting captured by DES, and even taken to a public trial, which for some reason, didn't seem nearly as stupid as I expected it to be, in fact, it seemed pretty damn evil. Fortunately the awesome Chieri managed to turn things around by being her strong, unrelenting self, and her voice during that speech of hers was great, just exhuding pure absolute confidence, despite the terrible situation at hand. That's what makes Chieri awesome (well, one of the things that makes her awesome). And of course, Yuuko was awesome this episode too, pretty much for the same reasons (even having her own awesome speech that might just convince me to add something AKB relatedas signature), and show that you can be friends and rivals at the same time, a lesson I really hope got through Nagisa's thick skull, I don't want to spend the entire season hating her. And of course, there's the small details, like Yuka and Orine hijacking the news to make DES look like a band of bufoons for blowing up their own place Shizuko bluntly reminding us of Grumbly's lack of prominent features, not forgetting the issue with Takamina and the succession, showing Nagisa's dad during the rescue and so on. This show knows how to make you appreaciate the small things Oh, and Chieri's dad is a dick. This is going to be good.
