I never completed watching StrikerS (stopped at around ep 9) but from reading around I found that there were at least two characters who shared a similar contempt for Hayate & friends as Amemiya so I thought it would be nice to integrate that, and it also fit in nicely with the timeline.

Hmm, point taken. The reason why I used rape is that that's a common occurance whenever you have pillage and destruction. Be it bandit attacks or war, women get the shortest end of the stick. Also I need the torment to be long, dehumanising and noisy enough to utterly break Ciaran.

But you're right, there could be better ways of mentally torturing him without the rape. I have a rough idea on how to link the attack on another organisation in my story, and doing something nasty to young ladies (other than sexually assualting them) would fit in the character of its leader. The only thing left is what to do and why.

Relationships: Still pending. All the data I can give now is that he gets to be together with Hayate later and he also hates an OC enough to kill him. He is to be an antagonist at first. The very reason of fighting for him right now is revenge.

Knight Armor: His Knight Armor consists of a mainly white body-suit with several armored plates with blue spheres at several parts of his body. He has a pair metal attachments on his back for unknown reasons. A cape can be found between these.

Gottes Rächer (Divine Avenger): An armed device taking the form of a sword. It houses up to five cartridges at a time using a revolver loader above the hilt.

Fighting Style: His fighting style is an odd form of melee bombardment. In short, he uses his sword in striking with extremely powerful spells while at close range. He has a number of ranged attacks, but he has a lot more for close-range.

Rare skill: Multiple-elemental affinity.

This is still very bare for a profile. But I wanted to show it for some comments and advice. Contrary to Estavali's story, I'm going to use a late-bloomer-in-love angle with Hayate. She'll be 21 when the sparks starts to fly. There are some clues in the profile to who Grandis might hate. I'll do updates gradually, especially on his rare skill since I'm a little pressed in time this week. I also might set up a mini-arc as well named ResolutionS. The OC's and CC's that will be involved is still up in the air. The confirmed ones are Hayate and her Knights, as well as Aurion. And of course, Grandis. (And yes, he's five years older than Hayate.)


BTW, does anyone have a pic of the Divine Avenger sword from Star Ocean 3?

The GAS Members at the Table laughed. One of them drew a card from the Deck on the table and put it in his Hand.
“Oh man! If this goes on like this, I really will lose my pay for this month.”

“Well, you still have those magazines you could bet.” Another one said.

“Never! Those are too precious to be handed over to the likes of you!” The other shot back, causing laughter again, before turning to Elric. “Oh well... But you have to join in when you get back here, understood Elric?”

“Yeah yeah... whatever.”

“And say hi to the docs for us.”

“Sure... will do.”

Elric left the tent and blinked into the evening sun that suddenly shined into his face.
A soft wind blew over the vast green plain that surrounded the camp. The plain was dotted with small lakes and ponds. Elric normally wouldn’t give them much attention but he was told they where remnants of a battle long forgotten.

After he shouldered his Device, Elric turned to only building in sight. Build from stone and metal, it withstood weather and time. How long was it forgotten before a recon team found it and reported it to the TSAB?
Elric couldn’t even imagine as his steps brought him to the door leading inside.
The building itself was small but that was only because it was just an entrance into a big underground complex.

Slowly Elric went inside and stepped down the path leading deeper and deeper into the earth. The air smelled old and used, additional installed lamps lighted the hallway. After what seemed like an eternity Elric came into the entrance hall.

The hall was big enough that 5 helicopters could land easily here, crates and digging equipment stood everywhere. Busy looking people in working clothes walked around, checked crates or talked to each other.
A bored looking GAS Member that sat right at the entrance greeting Elric and continued reading a data pad that may contain a novel or something similar.

Elric nodded to him and continued his way down another hallway. He heard that the archaeologists managed to open another chamber and he was interested in the new things they had discovered.

After a few turns he finally came to the place he was looking for. Like every new opened chamber, the place was mess. Smashed tubes the size of a grown man stood along the walls, what materials they had contained was something they could only find out after they searched for chemical remnants. There where tables made from metal, destroyed monitors and many other things Elric could only divine.

“Ah! Isn’t it Elric-kun!” A soft voice said.

Elric faced the speaker. He had a skinny, small body and was much older than Elric, his felted hair white as snow. The wrinkled face showed a smile like the one of a child and his eyes sparkled with knowledge and joy. He was a likeable old man who was in his element.

“Good evening Professor Scrya.” Elric greeted the leader of the excavation with a smile. “How is the excavation going?”

The face of old man brightened up even more. “Good! Very good! We are making a lot of progress! This chamber here is one of the most important so far. We know now for sure that this place once was a military research facility.”

“Military research...” Elrics glance around the room with a bad feeling. “You mean like weapons?”

“Err... yes... it seems so. “The Professor was slightly embarrassed. “Of course we will hand over all our discoveries to the TSAB and the Saint Church. The Scrya Tribe once lost a Lost Logia artefact it discovered, we will not allow it that something similar will happen again.”

“I know Professor! I’m sorry, I... It wasn’t my intention to sound suspicious towards you.”

“I know, Boy... I know. It’s just that I hadn’t much sleep last night, so I’m a little jumpy. Looks like this old body of mine is trying to tell me I should get some rest soon.” The smile returned to Scryas face.

Elric chuckled. “Thank you Professor. Well I think I better get going. Sorry I disturbed your work. Good bye Professor."

“Don’t mention it! If the other soldiers would only have half of your interested in archaeology this whole excavation would be much more fun! Oh! By the way...!”

Elric stopped a little surprised. “Yes?”

“As you can see, everyone here has his hands full. Would you be so kind and take this crate to the others in the main hall? It contains some of the already catalogued artefacts we found here.”

“Err... of course, Professor!”

Elric sealed his Staff Device into its Card Form and put it into a pocket on his Barrier Jacket, than he lifted the small crate from the ground and moved towards the exit. The crate was lighter than he had expected.
He had only made a few steps before he felt a humming deep inside him, irritated Elric stopped and began to look around.

“Is everything alright Elric-kun?” He heard Professor Scrya asking.

“I don’t know... what is this sound?”

“What sound?”

Then the earth trembled.
There was concerned mumbling all around Elric, he heard the rattling of the equipment, someone hissed in pain and somehow the small crate in Elrics hands felt suddenly hot.
The crate exploded.

It was like the time went slow. Elric saw the fragments of the crate bursting away in all directions, there were objects he couldn’t identify that followed them. One of them hit the side of his jaw and Elric felt pain as it sliced over his face, but he only noticed it a little bit.
All his attention was focused on the oval crimson stone that hovered there where the crate once was.

And then he heard its voice. A raspy metallic voice, male, with the neutral sound the most artificial intelligences have, but also with an undertone that sounded dangerous and somewhat insane.

[Activation!]

And all there was left was pain.


Elric sat upright, the blanked of his bed slipped to the ground. He was breathing heavy and his eyes were moving fast as they searched the room but couldn’t find anything dangerous. Slowly he realized that he had been dreaming. He tried to calm down, forcing himself to take slow, deep breaths.

He also realized that he was clutching his right forearm with his left hand. He forced his fingers to open. His hand shook and his fingers left white marks on his skin.
Elric wiped his face with his hand and looked back to his arm. His forearm was covered with black vines that wound under his skin. The vines reached from his elbow to the middle of his hand.

Elric had calmed down enough and turned his forearm so that he could see the other side of it, where the source of the vines was. It was an oval crimson stone that was buried half into his arm.

“Carnage...” he said the name of the ancient device quietly, as in fear that someone could hear him.

[Yes, my Lord?] The Device asked with the same voice Elric had heard in his dream only a moment ago.

“Nothing...” Elric mumbled. He needed a shower.

He really hated it when he was called during breakfast.

Elric was just in the middle of fighting a peace of fruit that bravely evaded his fork attacks as he was ordered into the old mans office. Oh well... he will have his revenge some other time.

In front of Brigadier General Baskirs office he stopped, checked his uniform, the bandage on his right hand and took a deep breath.

“Excuse me.” He said as the door opened and he stepped forward, but suddenly he bumped into someone who was leaving the office.

The young woman was a full head shorter than him. The only thing he saw first was her light blue hair and that she was wearing an AAS uniform, but then she raised her head looking at his face, her orange eyes wide open in surprise. Elric who was pretty surprised himself could only stare back.

“Thorn! Don’t just stand there! Come in!” Baskirs angry sounding voice brought Elrics attention back into the present. The young woman quickly stepped back into the office, allowing Elric to enter.

The Officer that sated behind his desk was surrounded with an aura of ruthlessness. His head was shaved leaving only his dark brown bushy eyebrows intact, his bright blue eyes staring unfaltering at his subordinate.
He was a veteran of many battles, the father of the Special Forces: Brigadier General Iskan Baskir.

“Sir! Special Operative Elric Thorn reporting for duty!” Elric saluted his commanding officer.

Baskir nodded, his expression became slightly softer. “Good you are here, son. I believe you already had the pleasure to meet Inspector Acous?”

Elric noticed the long haired man who was sitting on a couch at the side of the room. “Inspector.” Elric greeted him with a nod of his head.

“It’s nice to meet you again, Elric.” Verossa Acous answered with a smile.

“And this is 2nd Lieutenant Rinya Shuri A’Kalash from the AAS.” Baskir introduced the young lady Elric bumped into just a minute ago, his voice sounded a little displeased.

Special Forces Operatives aren’t required to greet ranks below the General ranks, so Elric simply nodded at her.

Rinya looked like she didn’t know what to do, but after an awkward moment of silence she stepped forward and reached out her hand. “Rinya Shuri A’Kalash... it’s a pleasure to meet you.”

Elric was hesitant at first, but then he took her hand and shook it. “Pleasure to meet you...”

“Good! Now that we are all friends we should proceed.” Inspector Acous stood up and walked to the desk. “Elric, you and Ms. Shuri A’Kalash will work together in your next assignment, so please be as cooperative as possible.”

Elric frowned. Inspector Acous knew that Elric wasn’t really able to work in a team, so why did he order Elric to do it now?

“Sir, that...” Elric began to protest but he hesitated as he realised that the Lieutenant was watching him from the corner of her eyes. “I will do what I can.” He said instead.

“Thank you Elric.” Verossa sounded relieved and sat on the edge of desk, what made Baskir throw an aggravated glare at him that he simply ignored. “Ms. Shuri A’Kalash was already briefed, so you don’t need to stay Lieutenant. I don’t want to keep you from your other duties.”

“Thank you Sir.” Rinya answered and saluted. “It was a pleasure to meet you, Brigadier General Baskir, Operative Thorn.” She turned around and left the office.

After the door closed Baskir sighted. “She seems like a nice girl. But I don’t think we need some nice girl accompany one of my operatives during a mission, Acous.”

“I already told you that this ‘nice girl’ was selected because of her specialization in melee combat, Brigadier General.” Verossa answered patiently, his eyes looking serious at the stubborn officer.

“Whatever.” Baskir grunted.

Iskan Baskir could have been Lieutenant General already but his main flaw was his pride and his suspicion towards other departments.
He created the Special Forces because he was unhappy with the TSABs inflexibility. He wanted to create a department of elite soldiers that were able to archive victory in every situation.

It was true that the Special Forces were a versatile deployable combat unit and their regulations allowed quick and unbureaucratic limiter releases.
However, the Special Forces were kept by TSAB High Command on a short leash. Nearly every operation was supervised by the Intelligence Department or a temporary commanding officer and support requests from other departments couldn’t be turned down.
So Baskir had really no other choice but to accept Verossas authority in this matter.

Sometimes Elric felt that the Special Forces were only a place to gather all the useful outsiders that didn’t really fit into the TSAB anymore.

Verossa sighted and turned back to Elric. “Elric, we called you here because of your battle against the Mantis Stalker last weekend.”

“Mantis Stalker?” Elric asked. “You mean the creature that attacked the transport?”

“Yes, someone in Research Department came up with this name.” Verossa cleared his throat. “Sadly, it seems that the creature you hunted down wasn’t the only one. We had three other Mantis Stalker attacks on three different planets in the last five days.”

Elrics eyes widened, it wasn’t surprising that there were more than just one magical beast but them appearing on different planets was no longer something that happened by chance.

“While TSAB was able to keep the damage on the first two planets as low as possible, the third attack was more a massacre than an attack.” Verossa continued with a dark look on his face. “The only stationed TSAB unit on the third planet was the 215th nature conservation corpse. By the time other TSAB unites arrived, most of the 215th was already wiped out.”

Baskir suddenly interrupted Verossa with a sound of annoyance. “Maybe they should have learned how to fight and not how to plant flowers.”

“Brigadier General!” Verossa shouted in disgust. Elric never saw the Inspector in such fury and even his own face turned pale at the heartlessness of Baskirs words. “May I remind you of the important work the nature conservation corpse is doing on many worlds?” Elric could do nothing else than look from one to the other. The tension in the room was almost solid.

“I was just saying that it would be better to train the conservation corpse more in self defence.” Baskir said quietly after some time. It was the closest thing to an apology he would say.

“Of course Brigadier General...” Verossa looked like he had swallowed a very bitter pill as he faced Elric again. “We were able to dispatch the attacking Mantis Stalker by bombarding the locations they disappeared to. But it was always the same, the wounded Stalkers self-destructed before we could retrieve it. Research also reported that the creature’s self-destruction even destroys its DNA so we have no possibility to find out what those creatures are. We can make some guesses from the reports of eyewitnesses of course, but we need to be sure.”

“I understand, Sir.” Elric said as a sign for Verossa to continue.

“The Mantis Stalkers only attacked ground targets in melee combat.” Verossa had finally calmed down. “It is the only time they reveal themselves. Before that, they are nearly impossible to detect. Bombardment through aerial mages is useful after contact, but we already know that the possibility of a certain kill is very unlikely.”

“And this is where you come in.” The Inspector pointed at Elric. “You were able to take a Mantis Stalker down in one-on-one combat, even if he surprised you with his self-destruction. If you would be able to kill one before he can self-destruct, Research Department could get their hands on a specimen. This is also the reason 2nd Lieutenant Shuri A’Kalash will support you.”

“Yes, sir!” Elric answered in a neutral tone, he still didn’t know what to think about the aerial mage.

“Brigadier General Baskir will give you the details of your departure.” Acous was now able to smile again. “Thank you for your time Elric, I’m pretty sure we will talk again in near future.” He turned to the officer behind his desk. “I bid you farewell Brigadier General, it was a pleasure to talk with you.”

“The pleasure was mine.” Baskir said polite but with an icy voice.

Verossa walked out of the office but stopped in the door frame he turned around again.
“Ah, before I forgot! Elric?”

Elric turned to the leaving Inspector. “Sir?”

“Hayate wanted to apologies, she said she was letting you stay on standby for a whole night back than and nothing happened.” Verossa sighted. “She’s feeling pretty sorry because of that.“

Elric blinked surprised. “The Lieutenant Colonel? Why? It is my job, nothing to feel sorry about.”

“I understand.” The Inspector looked slightly surprised now. “If you insist that she can call for your personal aid every time she wants, I will tell her so.”

“Pardon?” Elric was confused now. “But...! But I didn’t say anything like...!”

“Oh my, how bold!” Verossa interrupted him, his eyes even wider now. “But okay... I will tell her that you said you would even die for someone as beautiful as her.”

“WHAT!?” Elric could only stare at Verossa in disbelieve.

Verossa began to chuckle and even started to laugh out loud as Elrics face turned more and more red from anger and embarrassment.

Verossa was still amused as he left the room. “You really should show this lively side of yours more often, Elric. It makes you cute.”

Elric was grinding his teeth and trying to melt the closing door with his stare as he heard the Brigadier Generals voice. “I don’t like this...”

The sound of Baskirs voice reminded Elric where he was. He turned around to face his superior officer. “Sir, excuse me for my outburst.”

“Who cares about that?” Baskir responded and shrugged. “I don’t like those other Departments butting in and borrowing my Operatives. Especially if it’s Intelligence and this longhaired sissy. And now we even have to babysit some AAS girly.” He fell into silence for a short time before he asked. “What are your thoughts about this?”

Elrics cheeks were still hot from embarrassment. “I don’t know, Sir. I don’t know if I can work together with her, maybe if I could find out what she is capable of.”

“Hm... What she is capable of..?” The Brigadier General looked thoughtful. “Special Operative Thorn?”

Elric stood in attention. “Yes, Sir?”

Baskirs expression was a wolfish grin. “How long has it been, since your last mock battle?”

Ah, a dream, again like many others here. Flashbacks always make good drama.

Anyway, as others have said about errors, this makes for a good piece overall. We get to see some of Elric's past, his current task (which somehow included a female lead), Baskir and Verossa, and a little inkling into the Special Force Operatives. Nice!

I don't think you know what Tais actually did... To summarize, Tais was involved (reluctently) in a demo battle with Nanoha. He was not only convinced, he got this bright idea that he is going to defeat her and try to impress Ginga as well. He almost got a concede from Nanoha who wasn't seriously fighting but he decided to be "Gar" and not only did he not accept it, he proceeded to TAUNT Nanoha to get her to fight him seriously. End result, Tais snatched defeat from the jaws of victory via almost point blank SLB.

While extremely more powerful than your average AA+ ranked mage as Id, Glen is nowhere near as unbeatable as Id from Xenogears. Nanoha and Fate could probably beat Id (not necessarily working together, but it'd be a bit easier with two instead of one).

On average, I'd say that Berserker puts Glen roughly on par with Nanoha and Fate for limited amounts of time.

Knight Armor: His Knight Armor consists of a mainly white body-suit with several armored plates with blue spheres at several parts of his body. He has a pair metal attachments on his back for unknown reasons. A cape can be found between these.

Gottes Rächer (Divine Avenger): An armed device taking the form of a sword. It houses up to five cartridges at a time using a revolver loader above the hilt.

Fighting Style: His fighting style is an odd form of melee bombardment. In short, he uses his sword in striking with extremely powerful spells while at close range. He has a number of ranged attacks, but he has a lot more for close-range.

Rare skill: Multiple-elemental affinity.

This is still very bare for a profile. But I wanted to show it for some comments and advice. Contrary to Estavali's story, I'm going to use a late-bloomer-in-love angle with Hayate. She'll be 21 when the sparks starts to fly. There are some clues in the profile to who Grandis might hate. I'll do updates gradually, especially on his rare skill since I'm a little pressed in time this week. I also might set up a mini-arc as well named ResolutionS. The OC's and CC's that will be involved is still up in the air. The confirmed ones are Hayate and her Knights, as well as Aurion. And of course, Grandis. (And yes, he's five years older than Hayate.)


BTW, does anyone have a pic of the Divine Avenger sword from Star Ocean 3?

SF Operatives don't run around on full power all the time and blow crap up.
Its their supervisors that are getting the right to release their limiters.
Operatives can request release at every time, but its up to the supervisor to grant it.
