Despite this development the outcome of the good guys winning is still obvious, if not more so since it will lead to Erina developing her skills and protagonist power armor in a shounen. But what a terrible time to start such a gamble when the challenge was supposed to show teamwork, not inter-team competition. If victory wasn't already assured considering all that is at stake I'd probably be shocked.

They've had a few goodies as far as unrealistic wins over this series but i gotta admit this one takes the cake. The problem is that Erina's protagonist armor is so far developed to this point that it all becomes unnecessary

Erina has been cooking food one way her entire life due to her father's influence, so she doesn't have areal specialty. Soma and his Dad experiments with different flavors and combinations.

That's not true at all. Azami's teaching seems to be around cultivating her God's tongue. As far as cooking there's no way she doesn't have a specialty

Assuming she has a specialty is wrong too. She didn’t have her own way cooking until recently. She is cooking with her tongue and fathers instructions, not her creativity.
Even if you call those specialities, aren’t they just improvements of dishes created by other chefs...

For example, during the hell training camp, she only made a better breakfast sandwich and nothing Erina original. We haven’t seen Erina’s real cooking at all yet.
Her debut is in this current arc.

It's called your speciality for a reason dude so you're not gonna break it out for just anything. Plus outside of the training camp she hasn't really cooked and you know damn well using that for that type of event is stupid.

I agree with what AP24 said about Megumi. As for why Nene lost: it's mostly due to her always cooking by the book and realizing how outside temperature and other conditions can influence her cooking. She lost mainly due to inexperience in real life cooking situations.

And while Souma is challenging Erina instead of showing actual teamwork (aside from using her God Tongue to make his cooking better), the main purpose is still to get Erina to try to go all out to make a dish that would truly surpass Tsukasa's. He's trying to get her to cook to her limits. I know I keep saying this, but I really can't stress this enough here since people keep acting like what Souma did isn't understandable and is all that bad when that's not really the case. This is to make sure Erina does the best she can to make a dish that can outdo both his and Tsukasa's. And to make sure that Erina and Souma win.

Japanese spoilers are out with pics that confirm they're real. From what I can tell Erina is making a new dish with Souma assisting even though there's only 10 minutes left. The dish is finished at the end of the chapter. This pic of Erina is nice.

I was a fan of Soma Megumi because they started off so well but Soma Erina was the obvious couple whether i like it or not. It's one of those couples that pretty much exists because you don't really have any better options.
