You guys who have not read the manga should really start it now. It's hard to describe how epic a mundane drama slipping into gothic horror then adventure shounen have become. Araki have become bolder and more audacious as his art grew better through the parts.

They already did an OVA for Stardust Crusaders, so they may just be doing the first series, I really don't know at this point. It would be ambitious for them to adapt each of the series, but personally I think that's wishful thinking, since most shows these days tend to only run around 24 episodes.

I can see Sunrise animating it. With the sponsoring of Bandai, for the videogame and possible new toy and figurine lines. Especially with Part 3 where the Stands appears.

Huh? I'm very familiar with Jojo. But for an anime key visual based on the first Phantom Blood cover, that art is really weird. It doesn't look like the sort of design which is well suited for animation, and the changes to the faces are pretty unusual. The colors also seem off. I'm just surprised that they would put out a key visual like that promoting the TV anime (which is a huge deal for fans) without any actual info or staff announcements. It's like they want people to fear for the worst.

As someone who who's a huge fan of this series (heck, just look at my avatar ), I think it's pretty much natural that I'm gonna check out this anime. From what I gathered, it's apparently supposed to cover ALL the sagas, but I'm not really sure how that would work (crossover, maybe?). Still, considering how flat-out obtuse the series can be a lot of the time, I really have to wonder how well it'll translate to animation......

Looks like Warner Japan is producing the TV anime. Very odd partners. Instead of listing an anime studio or any staff for now, they instead have a few members of the production committee listed: - Warner Entertainment Japan: http://www.warnerbros.co.jp/ - Shueisha: http://www.shueisha.co.jp/ - Klockworx: http://www.klockworx.com/ - Medicos Entertainment: http://www.medicos-e.net/ I wonder if it could be Studio 4C, since they also worked with Warner on the Berserk movies... |
