When the Wolfram appeared, the Esquad Huckebein was on autopilot, as Stella wasn't connected and Reacted. Furthermore, the Huckebein were still under the impression they were invincible, as the TSAB up until then had only ever used magic-based weaponry, which the ship was immune to. They were playing with the Bureau, and then the Bureau drew its fangs, much to their surprise. By the time they could do anything about it, they already had Bureau personnel with anti-Eclipse weaponry attacking them within the ship, and before anyone could really get serious about a naval battle, Touma put a stop to it all. And once they could do anything about it after the Eclipse was fired, Hayate was hanging a glacier over their heads.

The guns not strong enough to destroy the glacier? Considering that one-eyed whatshername could do that with her sword (though the glacier did reform itself) then those are pretty poor guns. They didn't even try.

Nobody's perfect. Very likely the people still aboard the Huckebein were frightened into inaction at the prospect of being crushed by a giant glacier--killer or not, it's still being piloted by a little girl. And again, if Hayate could reform it that fast, blasting it wouldn't have helped and Hayate still would've destroyed the Esquad Huckebein when she reformed the glacier.

And if they'd targeted the Wolfram and blasted it and Hayate, the glacier very likely would've fallen and they'd be dead anyway.

Basically this, they even took the appearance of AEC equipement as something slightly amusing like "oh really? they're using real guns now? oh well". Thye only started to shit their pants when Tohma fired the Divide Zero Eclipse, Fortis and Arnage had a small oh crap when they saw Nanoha's Fortress Mode and then a major One when Hayate hurled Mount Everest over their skulls. Then Curren entered the scene and they quickly recovered the upper hand.

So yeah, at first they wasn't even worried by the heroes pulling out guns, Stella herself reassured that they won't be able to do shit once she react with the ship and pretty much was true, they only managed to escape with hteir butts intact because Tohma ordered them to do it.

We know a mountain sized iceberg is enough to scare Stella and the Esquad Huckebein but aside of that we still don't know the full potential of their powerfull ship.

Here's another missed moment of opportunity to show the guns. Record 12, Page 1: Vita and Erio fired upon the Esquad with their Strike Cannons. If there's any good moment to return fire, that would be it. It doesn't even need to be large-caliber guns; at that range, even rapid-firing point defense guns could at least suppress Vita and Erio. But they didn't.

Frankly, until I actually see it in action, then Esquad guns remains yet another case of Informed Ability. From what I see right now, the Esquad Huckebein acts less like a battleship and more like an aircraft carrier - it houses a compliment of units with devastating power, but the ship itself has minimal weapons.

Doesn't change the fact that yes, the Esquad Huckebein has weapons that have been mentioned in universe. You wanted to know if it had weapons, after all.

I still think the "guns" referred to Arnage's Gatlings and rockets. And with all due respect to the translators, it's not an official translation.

And if future chapters or official translations showed that it does have guns...well, seeing all those wasted opportunities to fire I guess I should praise Tsuzuki for yet another case of Hollywood Tactics (seriously, why did this guy insists on adding military themes, again?)

Erio can fly. Although I think that the method is embarrassing. Boosters on the spear. Won't surprise me if one of these days he won't have a good grip on it and it went flying by itself.

That said, he was carrying a Strike Cannon, so he can't fly using Strada with that big a weapon strapped to his arm.
