Shinji's scene got enhanced. :3
FREAKING AWSOME!

this is way cooler than the Azumanga Daioh/Fate parody hehe, and Papillon/Shinji's new scene is way better, I always tought I looked kinda empty

hope to see the finished product soon.

The last battle with Victor started, and it impresses me the awesomeness of Victor's powers per se.
Spoiler:

Additionally, Kazuki has been cornered into a tricky, tight spot.
Spoiler:

BTW, ANN has posted the titles for the last three episodes but take caution at the possibility of being fake.

Umm, thanks. But you know the word appalled means "struck with fear, dread, or consternation", which obviously has negative connotations. I was confused after I read that first sentence containing that word. Glad you appreciate my quick and dirty t/l though.

@Riker
The episode titles are correct. They've been on XEBEC's website for about a week. Considering that next week's episode is to cover the chapter Boy Meets Battle Girl, it was relatively clear that the anime will also include the conclusive Akamaru Jump chapters Final and Period.
Maybe there will be enough room for After, or for some scenes of it. It does not justify an own episode either way, I believe, so we will have to see how the anime will be pacing things, really.

As for episode 22, I'm a little disappointed that so many was left out, especially the funny bits, but also how Victoria's introduction was really reduced to the basics.

She is indeed voiced by Rie Kugimiya. Masako Katsuki is Alexandria.

and looking at this scene again killed me XD

Ep 23 was sad, but still amusing. It had a long awaited scene in it which made it all good. THE END IS COMING CLOSE!!!!

Ep 22 was pretty good nice back story on Victor's past and family but vague in detail . Why was Tokiko handed/received Black kakugane why wasnt she stopped . Victor vs Chief of Alchemic warriors I am looking forward to continuation that battle . Most likely Victor will ve Victorious . But altleast somone could stand up to him decisively

Spoiler for ep 23:
Yes, they did the most beautiful part of the series perfectly!

Btw, this is where the original manga series got axed in weekly serialization.
Can you guys imagine the despair we were in, when it came to an end?

Later we learned that the final part of the series was going to be published on seasonal Akamaru-Jump, but until then...
us fans were PISSED at the %*&@$ Jump editorial for axing the series.

Most beautiful? LIES.

*UG > **SS. Well, my opinion anyway. I thought that setting was much better. :P

Spoiler for manga:

Well...to be completely fair, Busou Renkin wasn't THAT popular anyway...It probably would've continued fine in any other weekly serialization, but we know Jump editors just luv comparing popularity with previous works...and that not-very-popular-series faces axing. Like Shaman King.

No, it wasn't as popular as some of the other Jump manga.
Although it was way more popular than most Jump and non-Jump manga out there.

The thing is, WHERE they decided to axe it. they could have axed it long ago, but they had to axe it right at the climax of the series... when only a few episodes more and the series could have ended in shounen weekly Jump.

Also, you do realize that Jump editorial bases its axing by inquiry/questionnaires sent in by the readers, and NOT based on the sales of the manga, right? This has been a long known fact, criticized by many in the field.

Which is one of the biggest reason why Weekly Shonen Jump's current line of manga are severly lacking compared to 10 and 20 years ago, and inability to keep artists in the business. Their current popularity is well below HALF of what it used to be, and continues to struggle.

There's a book released by a former editor in Jump, which is basically an expose on how corrupt the editorial has become, bound by old system that no longer works. One of the biggest issue was the relying on inquiry system.

Here's a good comparison.
A random issue from one of golden-age of Jump.
A random issue from current Jump.

As you can see, the one above is full of legendary titles... There are only one or two "small" titles, and rest are all super-successful big hitters. The one below... well, you get the idea.
The number of assured "hits" have decreased to much less than half, which is exactly the same ratio as how much business they have lost overall.

This isn't just "my" opinion, it's a concern raised by many including ones in Shuueisha. Weekly Jump editorials does need reforming. Big time.

So, um.... where was I....
Sorry for getting off-topic.

Yes, while I am not that informed on how Jump works within it's artist/editor workings, I am aware that Jump editorials works it's way around questionnares/inquiry axe. If I'm not mistaken, aren't fan letters also taken a little into consideration in what the editors want out of the artist/authors in particular?

Anyway, enough of that. It may had been rushed a little, but BR got an ending as it is, so I'm satisfied with that.

Ah...the golden ages. How I miss thee.

......Wait. They're not animating AFTER!?

Whether they'll include scenes of After in the final episode or not cannot really be said, I guess. I'd wager we won't get an accurate adaptation of this story, but maybe a few scenes will be included.
Whatever that may mean for the rest of Tokiko's backstory.

@aohige
Thanks for that post. When it was running and when it was ended (By the way, I heard about BR ending on the same day that Ratzinger became pope. How telling is that?!) I found it sort of hard to get an understanding of how popular or unpopular the series really was. In Weekly Jump, it was almost always in a low position, the tankoubon were usually in the top ten, though, and the English language internet fandom kept whining about it not being Rurouni Kenshin and it stealing the alchemy from FMA, and what not. It was majorly confusing.

The 23rd episode makes me wistful. I half wish it would continue.

Where there any in episode 23? I'm still saddened they left out the one that could have been, but was not, in episode 22.
Watsuki is a fan, obviously, that's all the justification you need for JoJo references. XD
