I don't think Ayaka likes fighting, as such. She just... doesn't want to compromise on her "everyday life", and she doesn't see other way to get it back other than fighting.

There was an announcement in episode 10 that on 7th July 2014, they will release an OVA bundled with 7th volume of the manga.

If this had more than 12 episodes I would have totally dropped it.
It's a shame this anime didn't use its full potential.
Could've been so much more interesting.
Takamiya was being a crybaby again ^^"
I just don't get that guy at all.
Lots of talking, but not much action.
These last few episodes should pack more punch.

Now that we've gotten this far, it's not so bad to point this out now.

It's kind of interesting that the intro is more or less a literal summary of the entire story for the entire cour, perhaps with a little spoilers here and there. Of course, a lot of openings for anime are cut in the same manner, but it's interesting in that way nonetheless.

One-cour series. There simply isn't enough material for more, especially due to the monthly nature of the manga (the manga barely passed the 35 chapter mark, and as of this episode we're close to 24 or so).

No, it is only 32 chapters. And they even skipped a month this year (no WCW in volume 40 of "Good!Afternoon").

I wonder if OVA is going to be new material, or something from chapters 28+?

Only the latest chapter (32) is untranslated. Next one is coming out on 7th April.

Yes but it is still only around 35. Last I saw 31 was the last translated. Going at this pace the series will end around 29.

Also the anime kind of danced around the sheer damage that Weekend did -- her attacks were specifically aimed at killing a maximum amount of people just to force Honoka to act. Which she does. See her bombs spells? They were placed at the evacuation centers where the normal people were taking refuge in.

So when did Witch Craft Works switch to being a monthly manga? Or did it not and I'm just mistaken?

From what I understand there will be (possibly) 4 or 5 chapters left after the end of the anime, which is obviously nowhere near what would be needed for another season. That probably means that the OVA will be an extra/fanservice thing and we might see a second season a few years from now.

Razdent Member Join Date: Oct 2006	Spoiler for Episode 10: Wow, very nice visuals all around this episode, especially the fight with Ayaka against that other tower witch. Honoka really does have a good head on his shoulders, all he needed was a little nudge by Ayaka to get back on his feet and not freak out over all the destruction. Just for clarification, were Rinon and Natsume killed when those explosions went off or were they just knocked out? Weekend said they were dying but Honoka said they were only hurt. I imagine explosions like that at close range would probably be deadly, along with those bombs going off around the rest of the workshop witches. I totally forgot that Kuraishi had that clutch moment in the manga, that was nicely done to buy time for Honoka. So much stuff happened this episode I need to go and watch it again.
