Yet another episode goes by and not enough screentime for Aiko, though this time around her scenes were absolutely splendid. The way she was trying to feed Shin just screamed out adourable. I truly love how she acts around him at times like these, it shows of her cute aspects. Another one would be her beautiful blush --- we see it a lot more during her second scene. It's so obvious that she has feelings for him, which makes it all the more interesting to watch.

Noe truly is a strange character, though lovable all the same. Correct me if i'm wrong, though wasn't that her brother asking Shin to be her boyfriend in the preview?

As for Hiromi, well it's her own fault for lying (twice) in this episode. That was one rather impact ending though, beautiful.

Anyone planning to make a few Aiko avatars? I'd love to change to one of her.

Good episode, more fun and more fluid.

The animation and graphic quality is the same and very righ.

The only thing annoying is the top camera in many scenes.

the problem is Nobuse, he keeps interfering and the chances for Shin to develop any romantic feelings for Aiko are very small.

So far I'm really digging this show, other than the standard never gets a girl sidekick almost all the character including the parents seem fairly complex and realistic. Can't wait to see where this story takes us, as there are so many ways it could go at this point.

Also, I think people are giving Hiromi way to hard of a time without much understanding. Think about her situation, first her father dies, and she goes to live with her osananajimi who she obviously had feelings for. In other words, the only person she had left that she felt she loved was now her brother, a sibling and their relationship had to change but she's not sure how. So she decided when entering the house that she would push down all those feelings and now she really doesn't have anyone other than a few friends at school, but no one whose shoulder she can cry on. That and the house she moved into the mother hates her for some reason, and we still haven't really found out why. My guess is that she's lying to others (and herself) in order to be a good little girl and not be disrespectful of the family that took her in by falling in love with thier son, as well as she JUST saw him carrying Noe in on his back, and is trying cope with that by pretending it doesn't bother her because she likes someone else. It's all fairly normal reactions that a lot of people would have, and I think people are being way to hard on her.

Oh god what an end...Hiromi is really beginning to get on my nerves with her attitude. She seemed like the "good girl" type but I guess after this I am wrong. Wow, this is one of the rare times in which I have a different view from you, Deathkillz, and feel differently about the characters. I actually like both Hiromi and Noe, but feel Aiko should really have stuck to the guy she likes.

Aiko being close to Nobuse in order to be closer to Shin-ichiro is just wrong. She is going to end up hurting Nobuse. Hence, in this series, she will forever remain the sister/advisor type.

As for Hiromi, I really feel for her situation. She lost everything in the world, and is trying to slowly get back on her feet. Add into that, she is not welcomed in the new home she lives in and has no way of supporting herself. What can she do?

As far as her "lie" in the end, I can really understand why she did that as well. Although, I don't think it is right, but she did it because of her immaturity and to save face. How does it look for you to go after someone and confess your love when it looks like he is going out with someone else? Shin-inchiro did the right thing when confronted with the same situation (or so he thought when he saw Noe with her brother) and tried to tell Noe to stop pestering him. Hiromi did not have the same luxery as her friend kept on pressuring her to confess her feelings for someone that is probably "going out with someone else." She is in a tough spot and really, shouldn't have lied. However, it is understandable why she did.

As for Noe, her carefree and weird attitude is just refreshing. There is definitely something dark behind those lost tears that she is looking for, and she is really sharp. Shin-ichiro ending up with her is not too bad, either, as well as Hiromi.

So in the end, childhood, hot, and popular girl or weird, sharp, cute, and happy-go-lucky girl? I really don't know where this series will end up at.

The problem is she's backed herself into a corner. She hangs out with Nobuse in order to get close to Shin, but in doing so is going to make it hard for him to accept her feelings when/if she confesses. Shin probably isn't the type to hurt his friend, and it doesn't seem he has many, so it's very likely he turns her down to spare Nobuse's feelings. In other words, she's screwed herself now at this point because even though she's closer to him, it's not in a way that can turn into anything romantic without people getting hurt.

Well to be truthful we haven't really seen anything Aiko has done to really lead Nobuse on, or even really give him any hope. He seems to have boundless confidence though and is the one making all the moves. Of course it could be happening in the background, but overall she hasn't done anything on-screen to really suggest she has feelings for Nobuse as anything other than a friend. The Aaaahhhh scene being a perfect example of him forcing the situation, and her not wanting to upset anything by giving in.

I believe the opposite is implied with the Aiko/Shin scene where she more or less says, "When a person starts to love someone, they feel the desire to become closer to that someone...but when that wish doesn't come true, they want to become closer to someone else who's close to that someone."

Shin doesn't acknowledge Aiko (dense), thus she becomes close to Shin's friend, Nobuse. Though, Shin interpreted the above as Hiromi and himself lol.

Hah, to be honest I think he didn't interpret it as anything, I don't think he really understood what she was saying at all, which is why she kicked him. He didn't understand the top referance, nor the underlying suggestion at all. But even still, whatever the reasons or whatnot, if Shin thinks he will hurt Nobuse if he were to accept her feelings, that would be a definite impediment to their getting together. At some point she needs to tell Nobuse the truth and tell him and she sees him as just a friend and nothing more.

That right there is what i want to happen. It has to happen for her story to at least start in this series, instead of begin a background character who's feelings are begin hidden away. It's just a matter of when it's going to happen --- hopefully not that long away.

It looks like this series has no problems putting anyone in somewhat tight spots. Aiko will confess to Shin. We'll just see how Shin and Nobuse handle it.

However, it's sorta obvious that Noe and Hiromi don't really seem to care what Shin actually thinks, as they both seem to avoid answering his questions. Maybe Aiko won't be as elusive, who knows. But Shin right now looks like he's being swept along with what the girls are doing for now. I expect to see him with a "wtf?" look until he actually makes a hard decision with what to do with them.

The most surprising and revealing thing to me in this episode is the conversation between Shinichiro's parent.

Dad: Hiromi is already a child of this family, just as Shinichiro is.
Mom: She is not my child.

Prehaps I am over-reading this, but is there a possibility that Hiromi is Shinichiro's half sister?

Reasoning-
1. Around 14:18, Hiromi said "I have decided to lock [all my memories] up, when I decided to live in this house. Don't leave me behind, huh?..."

Could it be that she learned who her real father is when her parents died? Now she knows that she can't be with Shinichiro?

2. Now we look back at what Aiko said. She said that "When a person falls in love with someone, he will try and get closer to that person. When that failed, however, he would want to at least stay by that person's side."

Now, assuming that the parents and Hiromi know the whole truth, that means Hiromi can not make a move on Shinichiro. The parents will object due to moral value. Then the two main characters will be separated and so on.

3. Finally, looking at the #4 basketball player. I assume that Hiromi was doing logistic/score counting in the game. Which means that she will most likely what his last name is- same as Noe, obviously. And then we see I scene where she saw Shinichiro carrying Noe, and at the same time, Noe's brother taking the shot.

A plan formed inside her mind.

She can just say that she wants to be friend with Noe so that she can be closed to Noe's brother.

That way she can deny her previous action and hide her true feeling. She can also stay together with Shinichiro.

Of course, at this point explicit plot manipulation kicks in to make the story seem more exciting, but I digress.

Of course, it could be that she only think herself as unworthy to Shinichiro as she is living with him as an outside guest to his family.

From what I can see atm, she hasn't led nobuse anywhere? He is the one insisting that aiko is his "honey" *shivers* but it isn't revealed if it is just one of those "one sided comment in hoping to get the girl's attention" or if in fact she is having some kind of relationship with him. I feel that there is more chance of it being the former.

Well for me, I don't feel that I can empathizes with her just yet because her emotions and feelings seem so forced or rather fake at times. I usually don't see this in character unless it is obvious but to me she is playing the "woe is me" card and putting shin in a tight spot. He cares for her yet she remains distant for no reason. But I do understand that she feels unwelcomed in the household (which I lay the blame on that bitch called "mother" ). Just what is with parents these days

Talk about taking the long route round

Nice theory and pretty workable given the situation. I like the idea about her being a half sister to shin but don't think that is the case. Though it would make a nice twist to the story.

Yeah the first one is possible. I am kind of hoping for what you said, in fact. Too many School Days chants nowadays.

But for the second one- she only told Shinichirou that, not to anyone else. What if she wants to get others (ie her friends) off her back before her friend pressured her enough that Hiromi cracks and confesses?
Or, she never really wanted to be friends with Noe because in reality Hiromi is actually interested in Noe's brother (or what she wants others to believe.)
Of course, this assumption rests on that Hiromi knows Noe's brother beforehand. I think this is a real possibility as Noe's brother seems like a star player.
Hiromi should know him from her basketball team's gossip.

The thing is, it's not like she is telling him he hasn't got a chance, or turning him down. She is just letting him go ahead as if they are in a realtionship --- or at least the chance that one could happen in the future between the two, when he isn't the one she has feelings for.

Ep 3 is awesome. The events are arranged very well and, as a result, superb ending. I still don't think Ai receive enough screen time, yet. I don't care if she doesn't end up with Shin at the end but even Nobuse got more appearance which is ridiculous. From the preview, it seems that Noe's bro will also come into play which will basically kill the chance for her char to shine. Anyways, I'm very curious for next ep as to what Shin would say to Hiromi after the revelation.

Actually, Shin was saying something like "Hiromi approach Noe cause she likes a guy who's close to her" . He then came to the conclusion that the only guy around Noe is him which is why he's suddenly very happy and smiling all the time. Later on, he will probably think that the guy is actually Noe's bro.
