The thing is I feel KT opened up the possibility for Vizards in general to match Aizen the moment he made Ichigo unlock a new Vizard transformation. So now it just seems like a question of how far he wants to take this. For instance, he could make Ichigo unlock 3 more Vizard transformations while Aizen is only able use just 1.

On the other hand, if Ichigo is capable of acquiring new Vizard forms, then I suppose there's nothing to stop Aizen from doing the same -- in which case, everyone is still majorly screwed.

It's hard not to compare all this to the various super saiyan forms from the DBZ/GT series.

where have we seen how strong komamura is?
he went bankai to kill a fraccion.. which was only needed because ikkaku is an idiot.. and other vice captains were able to handle fraccion...
not a very good measure of a captain's strength.
aizen owned komamura with that because aizen specifically targetted him, completely bypassing his bankai. the fact that koma's bankai doesn't change anything for him directly would seem to be one of its biggest weaknesses.
like byakuya's sacrificing defense for pure offense, except komamura gets to keep a normal sword.

According to Aizen himself, he is as strong as a shinigami can possibly get. He noted that shinigami have various fighting ways (swords, hand to hand, kidou) and questioned if it would be possible to become even stronger once they max out those skills, implying that he has reached that level.

If that's true, it probably means none of the shinigami can defeat Aizen, and Hollow powers are needed in conjunction with shinigami powers.
