@Triple_R
Good point. After some reflecting I think the reason I am so annoyed about this is, that there are a lot of people in this "evil science project". We may have seen only 4 or so, but there must be a lot more employes to provide the infrastructure. It would be the same with all other professions. 5 evil politican, no problem. 20 of them and I need a good reason for them to concentrate in such a high number. |

/ontopic How financially stable is the plot setting of Charlotte right now? I mean, if they're forcing ppl to go to Houshinoumi, this must be quite a toll on the pocket money of the benefactor, right? Where does he get money, from other students, paying normal tuition? I guess it'd make sense somewhat, since Nao seems to go from person-to-person on different cases-to-basis.

Why people think this super hero exploitation conflict has shaved off the ridiculousness of the trope isn't because we can come up with real life examples, but because there are real life examples and Charlotte, and then a whole lot of imagination and over-generalization in between. Why do we forget now that this exact storyline has already been done to death? We look back on anime that tackled evil scientist plots before with a stint of disdain, as if we didn't really want anything to do with them. If Charlotte doesn't elaborate enough, we'll look back and say Maeda had some pretty childish ideas. But now we're talking about justifying it with real world examples, when it still hasn't been elaborated on. Do you not see the disconnect? So what I'm pointing out, if it's not too obvious already, is Triple_R's and others' overly defensive reaction to pointing out that this anime is running on a very common trope that's almost beaten to death. |

Damm the dialogue is just so bad. 70% of it feels like "Sorry, but we are on a timer and have to hurry up. You get what we wanted to do with this scene anyways, right?" From time to time there are really great moments, but it only makes it even more frustrating in the end.

ep 3
The comedy in this show is so awkward most of the time. =/
Well with this the last member of the main crew joins the council. Yusa is most oddest character in show by default thanks to her eh, um possession. Now its' a question of where the plot will go from here? |

Ep 03
Waaaaaaay too rushed...and trying to stuff too much into a single ep. Rassa frassin. Why cant they just keep things slower instead of all over the map? Frustrating for me.

This ep... Well, the writing was all over the wall.. And the dialogues are awkward as f, it's as if the dialogue writer learned his/her conversational skills from chatting for too long with cleverbot... Especially the final "cofession" scene, it feels so out of place

For some reason, I just feel suspicious towards this so called benefactor. It sounds too good to be true; some rich individual dishing out smack loads of money to gather all kids with these awesome powers so as to "protect" them. I feel it may be a pretense to basically gather all the powerful kids into one place for some purpose. Or I may have been watching too many anime...

Yusa/Misa is quite the character, packed with two abilities in one and all that. The team with Takajo, Yu and Nao was already great so her addition will boost the interactions even further. Best scene in the episode was that act near the end where all of them combine their abilities to give that producer the scare of his life.
Special ED has a nice beat to it, better than the normal one. |
