it was pretty shocking to me , i was taking a break off my light novel reading schedule as it was the exam periods then when i came back , SAO was abandoned then HnA was taken down as well . I pretty much knew someone is gonna license sao cos of its immense popularity however hna came to me as a blow .
wtf ! the translation was just picking up speed again then *bam* " this project is abandoned "

I found the translated Vol14 in Chinese just now, apparently a different group from the main network of TLers for Chinese LNs did it and didn't cross-post it into the main hub. I only found out after Vol15 was started and followed a few other links to their site.

I'm putting this series as on the same tier as Infinite Stratos - on the verge of being dropped. Male protags that is only interested in the main heroine only because of his sexual fetishes really annoys me for some reason. In one of the Vol14 chapters Kinji got dogpiled by the 4 CaoCao sisters disguised and dressed like Aria (in various cosplay clothes Aria had worn before in the series) while in full deredere mode; and if it wasn't because of a convenient interruption (Aria drunkenly staggers into the room, without any explanation how the hell she found Kinji) Kinji would have been in a fivesome (with four lolis) and stolen away from the Baskerville team.

F@#% it, even Issei from Highschool DxD has more reasons loving Rias than Kinji has for Aria. If a series that doesn't excuse itself for anything more than a fanservice-y one is better than a semi-serious one like HnA, something is seriously wrong -.-

Plot-wise, it has gotten a bit predictable. Diabolus ex Machina almost every darn time a incident is over or the volume is coming into a close, only for it to be resolved later without serious losses/difficulty. Oh hey, Kinji beat the Hong Kong faction and taking no losses/wounds on his side? Well screw you, Petra and Nazis show up out of nowhere and is going to bomb the city to the ground. Vol 15 translation has started as well, and as mentioned the incident gets solved without trouble. There's just no tension whatsoever.

Action wise... the fight against G3 earlier was appropriately Epic. The latest ones in the LNs fails to be exciting; Kinji deflecting a bullet to the head using his skull from point blank distance and kicks the gun into pieces at the same time while in HSS mode only makes me go 'meh'. Especially when now he can see things and process them mentally at 0.01 second intervals. What is he, a Saint from Raildex? HSS alone just about solves everything, and that's just bad writing - at least make it a damn struggle in the process >.> To use another example of a protagonist who only has one skill, Touma from Raildex at least has to spend a week in hospital after major incidents, and nearly all his battles were not won solely because of him. In contrast, so what if Kinji gets seriously injured in the aftermath; there's no lasting effects a hour later. As mentioned above, no tension whatsoever.

tl;dr - don't expect any more info from me about this series, I'm (almost) dropping this series and just don't really care any more.

Cao Cao sisters are quadruplets? Aren't they triplets only? or my memory are failing me again. If I remember it right they first appear in the volume where Kinji is being targeted and Reki is acting as his bodyguard. Vol 06?

I honestly don't like much Aria >_> Riko is the best!!! Reki is too submissive >_> Shirayuki is sexy/scary -_-

For me the story kinda ended with the epic battle of toyhama brothers. I still/will read the series but so far. The enemies look kinda pathetic 0_0

Isn't most harem story falls in that category? I can't remember any story (in novel and manga wise) where the other girl wins (mostly the most favored or the most suitable)

Though in macross movie. One can debate that Ranka lose but we didn't hear it clearly -_-

I can't remember any harem story now a days that doesn't fall in that category (or in the past) anime wise. Shuffle and Mashiro iro Symphony did not fall in that category or they just do a girl per arc story.

Did I get the name right? because really..... its what like last time I heard/read it is 2007 or 2008. The author create new manga but it didn't get that long or great as ichigo 100%

But I'm still correct in saying. I haven't seen lately a work that doesn't fall in the "first girl" trope.

Well, the term "first" is subject to some rules. Not chronologically. Childhoods friends might win under that definition, but it's never them.

You have to at least make it to the Jeanne scene in vol 15 (not sure if you're a Jeanne fan but she never gets enough screen time)! I only read small sections for Shirayuki/Riko/Jeanne/Moe/Kikuyo scenes nowadays.

Felli? but Felli can be consider the first girl that appear on Layfon that doesn't have interior motive. Though for Leerin is the childhood friend. But Chrome Shelled Regios is vague at romance at first because Layfon is all gaga over Leerin but when he finally realized his feelings its all too late but all ends good in the end.

I also want to know what happen to the other girls. This series starts good but ended up dropping as the series goes. There are ups and down and its pretty unstable for me. I also almost lost interest on the series because of the story progression.

you mean Kaname? she appears at vol 10 and for Kinji's father he is just mentioned in the LN but he didn't actually appear
