I actually thought that team Basquash woud lose, but oh well they turn out good anyway.

Some interesting scenes in the op, with indications that Flora might become another rival to Rogue in terms of relationship with Dan.

well, considering how long characters beside dan can hold the spotlight in this show, i think rouge had the most exposure than any other character. Miyuki only had like 2 episodes in the spotlight, while rogue had like 4. Haruka had like 3.

I think it's worth pointing out that currently the new OP has a lot of reused animation, just like the first OP did at first. Who's thinking we'll be getting a better version in the coming weeks?

Spoiler for Basquash! 14 - If The Shoe Fits:

Mecha have received upgrades in the middle of battle before. Kallen's Guren upgraded itself in mid-flight, after all. But this show being what it is, the upgrade in this case involves shoes. That said, I love the new OP and ED. I listened to the only song I could find by THE SPIN earlier today. It was an image song for Garnet in the visual novel Sumaga. The Violette of that respective team, you could say.

That said, pretty intense episode. Hearing Sela do "Basquash!" was pretty awesome, and as I've said above and others have said before me, I wouldn't go writing Eclipse out of the show so quickly. With the title of the new ED and Rogue's presence in the opening, things are far from over with them. And are getting interesting with everyone else too.

Jeeps! This was a brilliant, brilliant episode...heck I haven't felt this was since episode 7 and damn do I welcome it with open arms. Simply great!

Given the OP's animation, I think it's a safe assumption that Rouge won't be out for too long. Dan was pretty classy this ep to have just left with two fingers in the air. Eh, did anybody else kinda chuckle when Sela, Iceman, and Dan lined up and did that pose shortly after receiving the sneakers?

They already have the right colors (and character archetypes) for a Sentai team, and that pose was a great little moment.

Ouch... Sela has now truly lost everything with her dad being killed. We do not even see her in the ep15 preview, it cannot be a good sign. Hopefully he isn't really dead and can recover.

I thought the new OP was great, as good as the new ED if not better, and definitely better than the first OP. I agree though that this episode was very impressive, and it's a promising start to the second half of the series.

Maybe that is the reason I don't like the new OP very much because over time I just grew bored of "Yui type" songs...which coincidentally more often than not features in your typical crappy Shounen type series and bringing back bad memories, I do not see Basquash as a typical shounen series nor do I hope it would turn out that way. The new OP just doesn't fit with the theme of the series and I feel like I want the old OP back

actually, in this case the problem was that she was not taking the drugs that would help her with the modifications of her body. Drugs=good artificial enhanced body=bad, those girls didn't have a chance against dan's team if they didn't get the boost.
