Tears are not how you deal with grief if you are Nubonaga no you must scream at the top of your lungs under a cold waterfall in the middle of the night because that's how only the manliness of manly men do it! Yea I think I'll continue to watch this just to see what craziness Nubo gets into next.

Well, good episode, sort of. I kinda understand the need of Himiko's sacrifice, voluntarily. Kinda. Or why she was supposed to. Nobunaga becoming less fool? it's just that I don't see it happening so soon. It seems that the writers are taking their time to make him doing something meaningful. Meanwhile, well, the world seems it's not waiting for him. Another couple of episodes and we will have just him and Jeanne.
Anyways, props to Mitsuhide for having the guts to kill Nobukatsu. Poor boy. Most relevant thing? Now Mitsuhide and Caesar are even, they both share the same sin toward Ichi. One killed his little brother and the other his father. Hard choice here. The downside for Mitsuhide is that it doesn't seem he gonna take it very well. So I suspect that Caesar will be the healthier between them.

Actually, sincey love adding historical bits, Nobunaga might become more serious. Himiko's sacrifice is probably going to have the same effect on Nobunaga as Masahide Hirate's seppuku in history. Masahide was ashamed by Nobunaga's actions at Nobuhide's funerals, so he made seppuku out of protest. It had a very big effect on Nobunaga.

this cannot be historical adding at all, Himiko existence in itself is a contradict as it's still debatable, and her death even more so. And this Nobunaga is a idiot rather than the fool, alienating to avoid infighting could be a good move if he isn't the one of the largest reason for the infighting in the 1st place. well, i used to like him but this Nobunaga is severe lacking in charisma and his behavior is too.. extreme. Well i will chalk it up to the next ep to see how they are going develop him.

In other news, seems that JAM Project is making another opening for this show!
So that means... Nobunaga: The Fool will be joining in Super Robot Wars in the future! |

IMHO, the chances for Himiko to die from that wound is like 80% but since it's anime, I'll say 90% that she'll survived the shot. |

Setting aside how plausible Himiko surviving would be in the show's setting, I definitely have doubts that she'd die this early. It's not that I don't think Kawamori would kill off a member of the main cast, just not this early. Especially when she's a part of a growing love triangle and her past with Nobunaga that she keeps flashbacking too, and that Nobunaga apparently doesn't remember, still hasn't been fleshed out yet. In terms of the love triangle, I can definitely see this throwing a wrench in things as Jeanne will likely come to think she can't compare in Nobunaga's heart to someone who never lost faith in the man she loves and even took a bullet for him.
Though it would be a pretty neat twist if Kawamori legitimately killed her off, sad as I would be to see her go. Her actually dying could lead to some genuine character development for Nobunaga, and create a major conflict for the eventual Nobunaga/Jeanne romance. And, like Kuromitsu pointed out, the drama and "love in times of war" line would be a lot more powerful if she died. All in all though, I'm fine with whatever may happen . Though yeah, Nobukatsu is pretty much dead. He's not even in the opening ! I respect how he, knowing full well that his plan would likely fail and that he truly wasn't prepared for the position, still maintained that he would lead the Oda's in this time of crisis while Nobunaga was off doing his... mourning thing, and still maintain his ideals despite them not fitting the era. He was a good boy born in the wrong age, and unfortunately paid the price . Poor Ichi though. Both of her potential love interests have murdered people in her family. Maybe Hideyoshi can help comfort her and the Monkey can get some romance action ? I liked how Jeanne finally got sick of Nobunaga being Nobunaga and left, and that she's tired of pulling out tarot cards for Da Vinci . I can't see Nobunaga taking his brothers death well, and I can see the conflict over that driving Nobu and Mitsuhide apart and leading to Mitsu's eventual, historical, betrayal . Not to sound like a broken record, but yeah, Nobunaga is also the weakest link of the show to me. Honestly, I genuinely like Miyano's performance, but it's just the character being a jerk and then having people praise how awesome and misunderstood he is rubs me the wrong way. Jeanne had all of my sympathy. It's weird though, since I'm used to protagonists in Kawamori shows getting the complete opposite kind of treatment. I guess Nobunaga just needs to be awesome all the time because he's Nobunaga? Well, hopefully he can improve in the future.
