That Regina will be "brainwashed" and turned into one of those characters that spends a majority of the series as a puppet. Thus effectively no longer being a character. I suppose they could alternatively go with the angle of "Obligation to her father" and thus have her conflicted between that and how she feels about Mana.

Likewise, a fear I had in regards to Marie Ange is that each time they'd get close to rescuing her that the princess would be in another castle. That by the time they truly saved her the series would be over. Thus making her more of a goal than a character.

One thing for sure is this. If Cure Ace is someone else and those spoilers aren't misleading then it means they pulled a reversal on us. It was thought that the build up with Regina or the rescuing of Marie would lead to Cure Ace appearing in the end.

It looks more like we'll be meeting Cure Ace first and that meeting her will lead to development of her as a character and whoever she might be in the long run. Ie we meet the Cure then the Civilian.

Still there's got to be a way they can still have Regina and Marie be Cures. I won't give up hope. Especially in Regina's case. Although I am now going to be "dreading" each episode partially because I'll feel kind of cheated.

Still who knows? Maybe Cure Ace will as a whole turn out to be some awesome character and she'll have the type of personality that couldn't have worked if she was someone we already knew. I'll just have to wait and see.

The current arc's plot is thickening with the discovery of Princess Marie Ange trapped within ice, and Regina snapping back to her senses.

Love the drama when Regina not only apologized and returned the crystals to Mana but also cried for breaking off her promise to her (Mana). That tender scene made me to sob quietly.

And, again just when Johnathan and the Cures got the step ahead and almost saved the Princess, the selfish TRIO outsmarted kidnapping the Princess and taking Regina along in tow.
So, what's going to be Regina's fate on next episode.... ?

Surely, her father won't be pleased if Regina doesn't want anymore from him to continue attacking the Trump Kingdom.

I can just imagine the Smile Precure's reaction if they met a Cure Joker. In any case, whatever they do with Regina, I hope they can resolve her issues fully during the 20s.

I suppose they could do it during the 30s like with certain other cures, but if we have to wait until episode 45+ before they are then it's going to be rather depressing.

I agree on that episode 45+ is just dragging out too long for solving Regina's issues, I personally think it should be at episode 30s at the longest. That'll be awesome if Regina becomes a Cure Joker yet I would feel bad for her at the same time

On that note, I just had a thought. In addition to the four suits being represented, we can in a way assume that those five cards are being represented as well.

We can consider Ace to represent Ace obviously. Ange can be considered to represent the Queen. Selfish King can represent the King. We can consider Regina as the Joker in a sense. As for Jack, well let's go with Joe.

Witched Senior Member Join Date: Apr 2011	Spoiler for EP21: I can't help but think the Royal Crystals are actually the real Marie Ange in separate parts. They seem to have too much power of their own. And so, the group travels to Trump Kingdom through a portal created by the Royal Crystals, as the group transformation is once again, in a different BGM other than its original, though it's a bit less depressing than last episode's. Also, the separation and attempt to rescue Regina kind of reminds me how in Smile, the Cures separated into separate opponents, with Happy heading off to save Candy and face off against a Yellow Akanbe, except this time, Heart ends up falling into a trap (and latches onto a spider Jikochu?), to which Regina ended up saving them in the end after recovering her powers (?).
