Urahara

Quote:
The word is just out of Anime Japan about a new series now in production called Urahara, based on the webcomic PARK: Harajuku Crisis Team!

PARK: Harajuku Crisis Team! started serialization on Crunchyroll Manga and Tumblr in 2015 as part of a collaboration between writer-editor Patrick Macias, artist Mugi Tanaka (aka Oplant), and the PARK store in Harajuku, Tokyo. The story concerns a trio of shop girls – Rito, Mari, and Kotoko – that band together to battle an alien menace intent on removing famous locations and landmarks from the Earth.
Expecting more info of this series to be released soon.

First episode came out on Crunchyroll.

Honestly, I'm not sure what I watched. A trio of cute girls, aliens, and a strange world setting. I'm going to have to get used to the art visual/style of this show. Looks familiar for some reason. The main trio of girls seems kinda cute so far I guess.

Does anyone remember The Rolling Girls? Urahara has some similarities to it in terms of style, tone and world building, though it seems to be even more random. But I liked The Rolling Girls apart from the drama in the second half and I love Urahara's colorful style. Its are is really what makes the shows stand out.

Despite that the first episode didn't really manage to catch me. I hope the show takes an episodic approach because a potentially uninteresting main story wouldn't really be appealing.

I'll continue to watch this, the style alone is reason enough, and I'm very curious what they plan to do with a two-cour adaption of a very short manga.

I'm definitely getting that feel, just from the beginning of the episode. Not identical, but it's got something similar to it.

So I'm not the only person who thought of The Rolling Girls!

Yeah. This show is definitely going for an aesthetic with both the look and the dialogue and I guess one thing will be how much they manage to stick with that and how much you like (or dislike) their choices.
I kind of liked the whole look of the show, and some of the dialogue was creeping into 'is this going to be a running gag' territory which if they build on that might be fun.

Will definitely give it a few episodes to see where it's going.

This series' art style reminds me of another series, something about living inside a painting world, which I forgot the title...

Looks interesting, I'll keep watching it for a bit more.

Watched episode 1:

Sort of hard to understand what is the plot of this weird show... but the first ep is entertaining enough, so will keep watching for now.

A cooked shrimp turn them into magical girls.

ep 3

So... from ep 2 and ep 3

Sounds like they're suggesting another "Kyuubi contract" incident, and the evil mastermind is the Pink Hair Loli...
