What I feel about this series or Kawaguchi.
Kawaguchi excels in creating the world and his writing is excellent. He starts out great. But so far most or all of his series ends simply as 'good'. Not great, just good.

Though after hearing from people who had read Arslan Senki's final volume, you could say this series is the very opposite to Arslan Senki. This series ended in a happy end so it does satsify people who wanted the protagonist, his girls, and those close to him live happily ever after.

No, Arslan Senki was written by a different author called Tanaka Yoshiki. He's a veteran writter and Arslan Senki started in the 80s.

Though it's a series which Kawaguchi also reads and was influenced by.

Still, it seems Sasha's word of wisdom really struck the Vanadis much since she want the Vanadises remain as a natural War Maiden without relying on Viralt. Tina was not listening to her advice thus once again she fails since looks like Sasha's word of wisdom really reach out Six Vanadis.

Wait a minute, Aslan Senki? The one which is drawn by Hiromu Arakawa(Fullmetal Alchemist)? And an inspiration to Kawakuchi? Holy heck, this makes Vanadis series even more deserving to becoming the part of Musou Series!

^Anyway, yeah you're right. Sasha's advice is finally comes in handy for the Vanadises and I don't think Tina is willing to pay attention to that because she has an ambition to pursue and insists on make it come true, even if it means destroying the very foundation of the kingdom...

Arakawa only wrote the new manga. The old novels of Arslan Senki were illustrated by Yoshitaka Amano (the Final Fantasy one). If anything, it was kinda a downgrade (and I say that as someone who actually likes the new designs).

*cough* rant over. Anyway, Asrlan senki is like the great-grandfather of all fantasy senki stories together with Guin Saga, so the Kawakuchi being a fan is pretty normal.

First of all is the Black Dragon Knights' narrow victory over the Barbarian Army despite its 5,000 vs 20,000. Originally, Tina want the two armies to annihilate each other but becoming surprised when only the Black Dragon Knight prevailed over the battle. Secondly, House Rodina (one of the nobles in Zhcted) from southern Zhcted where Viktor's granddaughter was forming an uprising against both Ruslan and Eugene. Well, the leader is not the girl because she was too young by age, but the soldiers as well. And by the way. this uprising also part of Tina's manipulation too! Spoiler for Tina's insane plot in crushing the enemies...: And then she has a plan, an insidious plan to finally obliterate her enemies, Because of her successful injuring Sofy, mostly because of the fossilization of the Viralts that she suspected, Tina thinks that she is the one who has the best advantage to wipe out the "weaken" Vanadises for good, starting by having her ally warlords who supported Osterode to deal with them. Talk about using other people's weaknesses for advantages. In regards of Rodina Army? Well, she is about to dispatch some of her unit from Osterode Army to "pacify" the rebellion. In reality however, she aims on crushing Pardu with her army and also destroy Rodina Army Oh, the kicker? *Ilda was actually assassinated by Tina! How far is too far just to fulfill a selfish ambition?! At this rate, House Estes is going to be collapsed into smithereens and not even Ruslan is capable to stop it. Spoiler* for Vanadises Plans to defeat Osterode Army.: Meanwhile, for some reason, Liza has received one of few House Kurtis survivor because Bydgauche is now suffering its own strife, both internally and externally. Pardu's impending invasion from both Osterode Army and Rodina Army shocks Elen even bigger. Don't worry though, Liza has a plan: split the army into two: Liza and Olga will defend Bydgauche and invade Osterode while allying with Brest horsemen; Elen and Mila meanwhile will rescue Pardu and from the invader. The best part of this? Mila will be leading the Leitmeritz-Olmutz Army to deal with the invaders, while Elen and Lim will rescue Eugene's wife and daugther. Spoiler for v16: it killed off a major character in v15. And in the final volume (which is volume 16) it killed of pretty much all the major characters... Damn. Spoiler for v16: killing off everyone including the main character? Just wow. Tanaka Yoshiki's other famous series Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu isn't a straight up happy ending but man...... Just happy Madan didnt have even a fraction of that lol. I mean, Sophy did survive after all. Even Kawaguchi is talking a lot about Arslan Senki on his twitter lol.

Spoiler for Yoshiki series: Anyway, Toshiki tends to always kill most of its main characters, so without reading the original Japanese novels I can't comment. In LoGH it was more spread out across years and books, but I think only 3 or so characters that were introduced in the first book survived, and all were secondary ones. So it seems the same but more focused? It surprises me though, because Arslan looked more optimistic, though that there's a good chance that might have been more due to the adaptation; in the anime I already saw some bits that made me think they had changed some stuff. I don't believe Yoshiki would have written the borderline retarded Sindhura arc as its presented in the anime... Anyway, if those novesl could get an English translation like LoGH it would be great. cough rant over. Anyway, Asrlan senki is like the great-grandfather of all fantasy senki stories together with Guin Saga, so the Kawakuchi being a fan is pretty normal.

Despite Tigre's noble intent on saving Eugene while planning on clearing his name, the noble then asks Tigre why would he, an outsider from Brune, had to involve himself with the Vanadis's affair. Tigre's response is to repay Elen for her help in his battles in Brune, specifically Brune Civil War. The noble is moved by this and decides to help Team Tigre to find access for the Imperial Palace Then, there is a conversation between Tigre and Naum in regards of Liza, whom the latter describes as an idiot of love because, while ferocious in battle she's sucks in professing her love for her loves one. So, Naum requests Tigre to at least give Liza his answer for his own feeling towards her, which Tigre agrees.

Spoiler for Eugene Rescue Mission: With the help from the noble's direction and some weapon supplies from the earlier Muozinel Weapon Shop via Damad, who wasn't with them, Team Tigre manage to slip into the palace without being detected. The mission itself also going smoothly as they not only reunite Eugene at his own cell, but also kill the guards who is holding the key and use that key to unlock Eugene's cell and get him and themselves out of here. And then they meet a group of people... That group is none other than Miron and some soldiers and, surprisingly he is clueless about Team Tigre. Tgat is until one soldier sense something strange about tgese soldiers which force Tigre, Naum and Gaspar to react. A mere sight of Eugene makes Miron so mad to the point he stabbed the former Earl to the chest, with a dagger that was bestowed from thw late Viktor no less. Congratulations, Miron! For murdering a "traitor", now your are an enemy to Tigre and allies which by the way only adding their cause the real traitor, aka Tina? However, Eugene doesn't die quickly as Tigre try to stop his bleeding with his torn cloth. Damad comes to the rescue to save the trio from the soldiers and the five of them try to escape. However the road to the Muozinel Weapon Shop has been blocked due to this chaos, so Team Tigre had to find another way. So the team had to split up where Damad and Naum had to find another way to by Tigre, Gaspar and Eugene to escape, with Tigre tearfully bid yhem goodbyes. The rescue mission is half- succeeded as all three of them had successfully escaped despite some Osterode soldiers' suspicions, but Eugene is seen suffering. Tigre plans on heading north and meet up with the rest of the Black Dragon Army, but Eugene instead requests them to go to Pardu instead. Tigre somehow complies anyway and heading for Pardu. Spoiler for Aftermath of Eugene's Escape: Massive search is ordered by Tina and Eugene itself is nowhere to be found. Still, Tina is seen relaxed as she already anticipating Eugene's escape because of the guard from the South Gate, whom once a friend to the old earl. That still doesn't ease Tina though as she summons Miron and then berates him for harming Eugene. Good job for jeopardizing your lord's reputation, old man! On the escapee side, Eugene is in his dying stage so Tigre and Gaspar have to take a break at a nearby inn. Because of Eugene's injuries, Tigre blames himself for his condition. While Gaspar left to find Eugene's family, Tigre meanwhile is accompanying Eugene on his bedside, and revealed the truth to Eugene. Actually, Eugene also knew Tina's ambition in becoming the Queen of Zhcted. Anyway, Gaspar return with Eugene's family, Elen and Lim. So this is where Eugene states his dying wish about Tigre becoming the King of Zhcted which Tigre initially rejects, the only reason why he is now accepts it is because of Elen's persuasion, via whisper to his ears.
