Episode 1:

Not sure I understand exactly what I watched. Apparently, setting takes place in futuristic setting some time in 2115. Besides that, we have another Tohru (the MC) clone? And not only that but it seems like there's some complicated affairs between the other characters. Hope we learn more about them soon but so far, very generic.

At least animation quality is kinda nice.

Well, I'll always give anything written by Gen a shot, even if this one appears to hedge far more to generic high school male harem fighting anime than what I'd normally consider anything above average to skew towards.

So, it looks like two worlds, with one world being a bit further in the future? At least, the impression I got was his doppleganger was older than he was. Which, if true, does hold some hope that this won't be completely dominated by children. Though the little blonde boy appeared to be the same age and size in both worlds...unless in his case he's the same person?

I guess it'll take a few episodes to establish everyone and their doppelgangers.

Well, it's an interesting premise to begin with. We have two worlds that seem to exist side by side but know nothing of each other. We have two MCs we are the same person but on opposite ends of the spectrum. One who is an underachiever and never wants to draw attention to himself, never wants to stir up trouble, and the other who is outgoing, an expert fighter, and accepts a challenge with ease.

Also, we have a little girl who is in trouble, who seems to be trying to send a message to Tohru, and she's always surrounded by ravens.

I know in Western culture, ravens usually symbolize death and foreboding, I'm not sure if they mean the same in Eastern culture?

But anyway, interesting start, we'll see where it goes.

Yeah. This is more in the way of Gen scribbled some ideas on the back of a beermat and threw that out to some other people to write it up. In the past this doesn't work out as well as if he'd written it himself!

Still, I'll give it another episode or two to see where it goes..

Gen came up with the premise/backstory for the Gunslinger Stratos video game, that's it. He was much more involved in Aldnoah Zero since he was the original creator as well as writing the scripts for the first 3 episodes.

My overall thoughts about episode:

I honestly don't know what I watched.
It was meh, I guess, but I guess I'll watch it.

It was a really ok-ish episode but I honestly expected more judging from those badass PVs but let's see how it develops. What bothered me the most was the art looking so cheap though..

I hoped we would get development from both future and present versions of the characters but after seeing that op (and ed) it doesn't seem like it will work that way but I'm still excited to see what this show has to offer plot-wise.

Crime scene first thing in the morning..
Such a "nice" way to start a day.
Kazasumi - a classic underdog.
The action part was fun to watch.
Mystery level was just right to get me interested.
Will give it a few more episodes before I decide.

Not sure I like the whole double/future self? whatever is going on hijinks.
