Some new info today:

Quote:
Yoshitomo Yonetani, director of the Tiger & Bunny anime films, confirmed on Twitter on Friday that he is not working on the new anime series project. He said that he did not receive an offer to work on the project, and he will root for the staff and cast "as just an ordinary citizen."

Double Decker! Doug & Kirill (Tiger and Bunny spin-off)

Quote:
Sunrise opened a website on Friday to announce that the previously announced new anime project in the Tiger & Bunny franchise is titled Double Decker! Doug & Kirill. The anime will premiere this year.

The official website also revealed that this "buddy series" anime is "one part" of the new Tiger & Bunny anime series project. The series will follow a two-man detective team: one who is a veteran and one who is a rookie.

Well, I guess this is Stern Bild City 50 years before TaB.

Anyway, similiarity between both Agnes is striking. If there will be any character named Joubert I guess we will not have any illusions about who he will end with...

Wait, so they get more freedom out of answering to the military? Worrying.

Or is it because they're neither fish nor fowl?

The Terminator reference was funny!

If you guys don't remember the Terminator robot arrival scenes, just google Terminator nude scenes on Youtube.

Have to agree the Terminator reference was brilliant, even extended to the soundtrack at that point.

I was also amused as I'd thought "Yeah, Double Decker, bet there's nothing about buses in there at all" when one of the early shots was a kind of naval-punk Routemaster. I laughed at that moment!

There's a sense of fun in this show I quite enjoyed, even though I'd not see any Tiger and Bunny at all. Maybe I should?

T&B was fun but it was different from this title (less dark). This title appears to be more fun to me in the first episode. You can't go wrong from watching it imo.

I keep trying to figure out where there's any actual connecting to Tiger and Bunny here, beyond just a similar style, esthetic, American setting, and sense of humor. Is this a prequel of some kind? An AU? Does this take place in Sternbild? Is Anthem supposed to be the precursor to people becoming NEXT somehow? Although if it was really a prequel of some kind, I would think the technology and fashion would seem to be more dated compared to what was in Tiger and Bunny, but everything felt fairly "modern" .

Although I did think this did a good job of capturing the feel of Tiger and Bunny, with a dynamic buddy cop duo (this time with actual cops!) right there in the title, goofy codenames, stylish outfits, comic book influences, and fun humor .

I loved the narrator. His commentary reminded me a lot of the narrator from Jojo's Bizarre Adventures .

I wonder if one of the Seven-O agents or some character will end up taking Anthem and developing their own powers, but instead decide to become a hero? Although I guess using Anthem to begin with is illegal so... .

It's always nice to see Saori Hayami do something different from her usual role, here playing an aggressive, all-business but not unfeminine, agent who knows how to use a sniper rifle. I'm looking forward to seeing more of her, her partner, and the rest of the Seven-O agents .

Why am I not surprised that the dandy head of the Seven-O is on a first name basis with all those female officers? It must be the Rikiya Koyama effect .

The blonde haired-woman and Robot seem pretty close going by the Opening. I wonder if they're...involved? Or I guess it could just be a sister dynamic, although it could be both .
