Here's another hint. Go to the top of the Suggestions thread and click the "Search this Forum" link you'll see in the bar above the thread listings. Enter "horror" and click Go. You'll get a number of alternatives. Here are two relatively lengthy threads with a number of suggestions:
http://forums.animesuki.com/showthread.php?t=111187 http://forums.animesuki.com/showthread.php?t=110195 The second link is a thread specifically about suggestions relative to Another. Horror isn't a very common anime genre, but there are number of shows that have similar thematic components. For a lengthy thread about about shows with "dark" themes, I recommend: http://forums.animesuki.com/showthread.php?t=30970

How about Kara no Kyoukai - The Garden of Sinners. It's a seven OAV series, but the stories are trippy and creepy as hell. The stories don't take place in chronological order, but you'll have to watch all seven to connect them.
Higurashi no Naku Koro ni has horror elements, but the plot and story can be convoluted at times.

Horror/suspense/supernatural:
Aoi Bungaku Series - not exactly horror but covered some sad and seriouse themes with some blood. Set of small, separate stories. Death Note - not horror but great suspense with super natural stuff Elfen Lied Ghost Hunt Hundred Stories Jigoku Shoujo Monster - not horror but great suspense/detective series. Has things to think about. Shiki Umineko no Naku Koro ni

Real horror is hard to find, a bit of gore is findable, but real horror is hard. I haven't found a worthy "horror" show so far, just good shows with a nice dark atmosphere or just slightly thriller/action shows with messy scenes. |

Took the suggestion of Hirugashi no Naku Koro ni. I'm hooked, watching the Kai series now hoping to get some questions about the series answered. This is what I am looking for, would would be the next Horror I should try that is same psycho horror type like this one?

I'll insert my standard plug for Nakamura Kenji's Apothecary stories, Bakeneko and Mononoke. Hakaba Kitarou is worth a look as well, though it's more comedic than horrific.
