What I've read so far mc doesn't seem to be a mere engineer. He seemed to have maybe a master's degree in engineering

^^No. They only just now got the possibility. They still haven't done anything with them yet. It was a Heritage stored from 400 years ago.
BUTHe will have a field day with it.

And although they haven't fired off Excalibur it's pretty much confirmed that it will destroy his castle by the 400 year old witch and we also got to see it in that spirit world when the body snatcher witch was fighting the new pope

And apparently it requires magic energy from a lot of witches and only the very top of the top 2 ancient Beyond superhuman witches can handle it. Even the 400 year year old 3rd ranked Ice witch could barely power it 50% ........
