I think this is how it is familiar, they had something similar a while ago and it turned out to be a Drama CD. I thought they said it was the last Drama CD though, and I don't remember as much excitement.

I know the manga is always making the best seller list and Nyanko sensei products are feature in almost every issue of Lala, I can't find any info on how the anime sells though.

Edit- from another thread on animesuki- Best selling DVD's of 2008-

Like I said, I think I heard it somewhere once but don't have anything to back it up. I know DRRR sold well (surprised they haven't announced a sequel for it yet) and it looks like Spice and Wolf II sold decently but I have no idea how to crunch the numbers for this.

^That's quite the shocker. I had no idea both seasons did so well.

When I was in Akiba last time I was surprised by the amount of NY swag. I bought a Nyanko plushie (he's staring at me now).

Dammit, every time I open this thread now I expect to see news about a third season...

Here's my (slightly out of focus) Nyanko Sensei plushie who keeps me company at the computer.

You have this exact one?! Coinky-dink! There were 4 or 5 different Nyankos to choose from at the anime con where I got him. I liked the fish in his mouth one the best and bought him.

Try back in a month; we will know then if the "announcement" is about a third season or a Nyanko-sensei wind up doll. (or art book or other anti-climatic phenomena.)

Nice plushie.... why isn't it being picked up by Disney already? They love merchandise don't they?
