She lead a squad of Knights to save a village from some monsters, but there were too many monsters, and they were surrounded. Kian went after her together with his mercenary group, Fiona, Sariel, Nero and Kai(The latter two, who joined them by coincidence) And helped her. By the way, there were still some villagers alive on the place, so Charlotte salved them.

It's not fake, They are fiancees

and one of the motives for Nero to become a little bitch and try to kidnap Charlotte was this. Well, we still don't know where this will end. And yes, the cursed weapons can take human form. At least Hitsugi can by using Kurono's pseudo water element. Machete-senpai can show a human form, but she's like that evil spirit of the movie "Grudge".

Well caught up to this after putting it off for 2 and half-ish years. Glad I stopped a couple arcs before the amnesia stuff. At least it was progressive amnesia and Kurono returned to his roots to improve his magic basics instead just his melee skills.

The 'true power' of Mia's blessing has also been mentioned a couple times and that he's still unaware what it actually is. It's not just going to be something as simple as using the 7 trial powers at the same time, right? Like with his antimatter magic that he recently discovered. I can't remember him ever trying it but it's been a while. It also seems like it would have massive recoil, like how the Light Maou does already.
Mia promised him power to defeat apostles, and while he technically can, it's very borderline even against the weakest, untrained apostles.

Speaking of, I keep secretly hoping Kurono will somehow develop a "Black Maou" ability. Which might be the 'true power' to begin with, and why the Blacken Gods are, well, black.

Kinda random question, but did Mia mention how his original 'seventh trial' went when he was alive? Rereading the chapter due to old memory, he mentioned the success condition was just to offer up Lily's (a loved one's) heart, and mentions the alternative condition was to still offer her heart and mind a method to revive her. So I was wondering if Mia killed this person in his own experience, or ended up revving them.

Got some thoughts about Zenogart (idol's brother) as well. Mia went on about how no one alive probably has a blessing from a mythological age god, but then Lily mentions he has a weird god's blessing that isn't the White's or Black's, and his mana took on the same gold as from the Golden God. How the hell did he get it without ever reaching the treasury? And does he even still have it now that the Golden God has been banished?
Kinda reminds me how Mia sold off his rival Haruto to Iris (fairy god) as his only method of beating him, with how Lily sold him off to the elf lady — not that they were lacking options on what to do with him. To digress a little, I'm pretty sure Iris' victim's name wasn't Haruto but something like Souma, as I recall it being very similar to the Jujutsushi's rival hero character.

Mia also mentioned that he fought the second apostle Abel, and apparently failed to finish him off as he's still alive. Yet in other dialogues he mentions beating all the apostles. Not sure what to make of that.
It's also been mentioned, like with Nero, that there's some specific conditions for making an Apostle, which apparently also extends to just adding new seats because the White God got pissy mad and won't allow a 'number 7' to exist again. Normally a god's blessing is given through trials that are modeled after the god's own experiences when they were mortal. However, Mia's said that Kurono isn't an 'apostle,' probably making the conditions very different. Likewise, Mia was called an apostle to the Ruin Goddess, and many of the Cross Army soldiers all have a sort of mini-blessing that they just seem to get. Makes me think that the White God's power simply came to be at one point without effort, which is how he gives it away so easily.

Thinking of it, the Golden God only needed someone to make a wish to him (presumably in person) to become his 'apostle.' Guess apostles just get power easily in exchange for losing control of their fate, whereas blessings make it the bestowee's own power and don't limit them in any way?

Edit: re-reading through random chapters, apparently Kurono's 'creation' used black dragon materials. I guess that partially explains why Avalon's priestess Bel was so flustered by his looks.
So he has whatever materials the church poured into him (black dragon), a god's eye, and a rank 5 monster's perpetual heart in him. I think he qualifies as a chimera by now.
So interactions with Bel in the future could stimulate the black dragon in him for a power up, his Maou stuff still has room to grow and improve, and Sparta has a legendary cursed sword named Berserk (also mentioned would get stronger if a black dragon gets killed by it).

Nah it's Souma Yuuto. I'm pretty sure he used to be called Souma instead of Haruto in Kuro no Maou, with the spelling differing from Jujutsushi's 蒼真 but the pronunciation being the same. Might have been 蒼馬?

Could also be that his last name is somewhere else in the story and I just can't find it, and the author didn't actually change it.

The biggest problem is the pacing. If the autor wrote at double speed for example, we'd already have read these developments a few years ago... And now the story would be several arcs ahead...

Yeah I'd say pacing is its biggest weakness as a novel. It's not bad pacing per se, it's just when you have this long of a story you really don't want to spend your once a week chapter on filler stuff, like going out shopping or whatnot. It doesn't happen that often with this one, but it does happen. In that sense, his other work Jujutsushi has been really good, with the only filler-ish portion being the school tower arc.

Otherwise the plot does steadily progress, making allies and building foundations for future events with plenty of foreshadowing.
It's a lot better than many other novels' pacing. Like Wiseman's Pupil will spend a month of updates on pointless furniture shopping or card games, among other things. Dendrogram has LONG side stories out the ass.

If I recall, the reason the church hasn't gone all out was mentioned as their home continent isn't exactly stable, having several apostles on duty to take care of the shit that happens over there. They just appear stable as an army, save for the apostles, which seem very whimsical in what they do. It could be that the White God doesn't actually have much control of his own apostles and has to trust they do what he wants, like how Sariel was finally able to betray him when she wanted to, or how Sariel had to beat up Misa when they first met to even get her to talk straight. They seem very selfish in general, a bit loony, and fundamentally appear to have zero intention to cooperate with anyone.

Excerpt about the unstable homeland:

The first apostle Adam (and White God's son) especially apparently focuses heavily on defense so much that he hasn't participated in any wars and is rumored to not even exist. It doesn't even seem like Mia, who mentioned he'd fought the second apostle Abel before, has even met Adam. Mia becoming a god is probably what prevented him from fully dealing with the White God to begin with, ironically.

I don't think the White God particularly cares about a Demon Lord rematch or whatever. Since love as a motivation and power source is kind of a major theme in the series, I think he really is just trying to reclaim his and Aria's 'holy land'. And get rid of any other filth. It's been hinted that the White God doesn't actually care about demihumans or even particularly like humans, it's just his use of humans to kill demihumans is a means to something else. Could just be his power can only be used with humans for whatever reason.

There's been several other ways mentioned for Kurono to get stronger besides just get better at what he already does (that I mentioned 2 of my posts ago). Plus, like Mia, he needs to unify the demon continent first, which is still in progress. Besides that, his party members also need to be able to 1v1 apostles since the semi-final boss is likely going to be the 2-5th apostle Hero Party.

We also still literally know nothing about the Sixth Apostle, Ninth Apostle, and Tenth Apostle. Sariel said she has information on them (as in 6 and onward) but as for us readers none of them have even been mentioned.

Mia said he even fought Abel, who's still alive, so it's fully possible Adam is still alive — no one else has taken the First seat at least. Seems apostles don't have life spans. Plus Adam was the son of the White God and Aria, so if demigods are even a thing, Adam would be one.

On the other hand, that also means Mia killed the Sixth and after apostles since those ones are all newer ones in the story. Curious why'd there be such a long gap between apostle births. Unless the newer seats just get born then quickly die due to some threat or another on the Ark continent. We do know there is some sort of strict conditions present for one to become an apostle anyway, like how Sariel became one by design. Everyone in the story acts like one will be born as soon as one dies but maybe there's a cooldown on them? They have all the information on that losing purity means sealing that Apostle Seat forever (thanks to Misa telling them), but don't seem to take advantage of it.

We do know there's strong entities in the world. Like the Black Dragon King of Tartarus(?) dueled Sariel and nearly won. Mind you Sariel had no special power that apostles also get, but she was also one of the fastest learners and most calculative fighter. Black Dragons seem regarded as the strongest race in general, and we already know of two others: The 'Duke' Black Dragon, and the Fire Priestess of Avalon (who also wants to become the Demon Lord's wife). Well, and Abel's new mount-slash-the prince of Tartarus. Kurono was also mentioned to have had Black Dragon materials used in his modifications by the Church, and their lifeblood can power up cursed weapons.

Random Rank 5 mobs in general might even be able to take on Apostles, depending on affinity. We just never really see any Rank 5s outside of Kurono's perspective.

But yeah, I am curious about the rest of the Ark Continent nations. They probably don't worship the Black Gods meaning their strength would likely be very limited. But then you have Nero who got rank 5 without any god blessings, so maybe it's not actually so bad.

They do seem to be taking the invasion very seriously. You don't literally throw all your forces into an invasion as you need to maintain your homeland, which considering how heavily they guard it, probably has a big weakness toward the White God there. Hell, maybe they're afraid Mia will show up randomly and fuck him up if they leave like with the Golden God. Basically they just aren't desperate enough to do it, especially after already having lost the first invasion centuries prior.

The humiliated Nero is then given power by the White God, and becomes the Thirteenth Apostle, to Kurono's despair. Nero claims that the alliance between Spada and Avalon is now over. He will become King of Avalon and rule with the help of the Church... He takes his imouto Nell back to Avalon. She still hasn't confessed to Kurono... __________________ ---

Anyway, since he existed in the ancient times he probably doesn't exist in the current era, after all that time (Mia won the great war so he's probably dead?). Eight Apostle Ai too said that he probably doesn't exist. The White God wants to obtain Aria and conquer Pandora, but I doubt his motivation stops there. He is one of the ancient gods, and more importantly it seems he is the one who created the world. His control was eroded by the Goddess of Destruction (another ancient one), and later Mia gained the power to expel the ancient gods and took full control of the world together with the other Black Gods (mortals who became Gods). They took control of HIS world. Surely, he wishes for some sweet revenge... "But they're busy on the other continent" - yes, this excuse has been around from the beginning of the story. But something still feels off... After, all, the White God commanded them to conquer the other continent. You'd think they'd take it a bit more seriously... Or maybe it just feels that way because the story is moving so slowly... On the other hand it would be nice if the author could give more details about the other continent. How strong are the other countries exactly? Do they have people strong enough to counter the Apostles??? One funny idea I've had for some time, is the possibility that the entire story takes place on a single continent. It seems to me that Nero's father who was the King of Avalon has already made plans to betray Nero after he came to know that his son has become an Apostle of the White God. He has already made his escape from Avalon along with Celis.

You don't literally throw all your forces into an invasion as you need to maintain your homeland, which considering how heavily they guard it, probably has a big weakness toward the White God there. Hell, maybe they're afraid Mia will show up randomly and fuck him up if they leave like with the Golden God. Basically they just aren't desperate enough to do it, especially after already having lost the first invasion centuries prior.
