It would be useful if Hanyuu could change the appearances of things or use teleportation

But that would defeat the purpose of the story...

Agreed. Manipulating time and consciously accessing the multi-verse is plenty powerful for a small-village god.

What was the reason for red-colored text in the Higurashi sound novel? Was it to display the characters in "Oyashiro mode"? I remember reading somewhere that red pages in the Higurashi paperback novel also meant "Oyashiro mode".

Just started watching this anime today and I already hope Keiichi dies. Grant George has such a terribly boring, deadpanned voice it makes me instantly hate whoever he's casting.

If that's the case, then you'll enjoy/hate this series a lot. I don't normally recommend that people watch the subs for a series, but the Japanese VA's are good enough that I will make an exception.

Ugh, yeah I'm not liking this anime very much. The voice overs, the art style, the story, the pacing, they just don't appeal to me. I get my wish and Keiichi dies but then they hit the reset button and he's back again like nothing happened. -.-

Higurashi may have a simplistic art style, but be thankful it doesn't use authentic 1983 animation. *shudders*

Wait for the later episodes, and Kai(second season). They have better artwork.

Watch the japanese version or read the manga. Or play the sound novels.

The question arcs are a bit boring in my opinion too. I prefer the answer arcs, they have the action, sadness and awesomeness that makes Higurashi Higurashi.

Oy.. It's too late I already deleted it all after watching Episode 9.

I peeked at some of the later episodes just to be sure and seeing the same scenes be reenacted doesn't work for me. That's not the kind of story telling I can enjoy because it feel like the plot isn't progressing forward. If the whole thing is just different scenarios about murder mysteries I get bored.

I thought it would be better to use the this thread rather than making a new one so no one would think I just came here to troll. It was sort of a query about the plot even though I didn't ask anything directly. I decided to give it another shot so I'm downloading Higurashi again.
