Excellent, excellent stuff. Very fun and entertaining. It's like a mixture of FLCL and Kill la Kill. This show is right up my alley with being hyper stylistic, brightly colored, over the top, comedy filled, and just plain cool.

Masami is just my type too. I liked her character. I just hope they don't get rid of her quick, because she doesn't seem to be a "main" character.

This just might be anime of the season for me personally if it plays its cards right. 5/5

The focus was kind of all over the place and I can't tell if I'm supposed to care about anything.

A great first episode, very enjoyable. Reminds me a bit of Kill la Kill, just without the Kill part. Maybe like color explosion la color explosion. XD
The concept of the best and the rest is pretty fun, though I wonder how you can become a "best" or if it is possible for a best to return to the "rest" of humanity.

Got to say that this is the most stylish anime series coming from Wit Studio!

Of course, I'm expecting this show to have a Kino's Journey vibe after all that flash between the Bests!

It was kind of odd and I don't know what to expect. I didn't have any issues with the intro story, but again I'm knowledagable enough about Japan's prefectures.

I'd be curious as to whether Okinawa would take the opportunity to go back to being the Ryukyu Kingdom, or if an independent Hokkaido would make more of an effort to highlight its indigenous Ainu culture.

I should probably not be in a hurry to expect either to be shown in this series, however. (But then, who knows just how far north or south they may end up going?)

ep1

Well the one thing I can say about the first episode is that certainly has a lot of energy. I'm just not sure if that energy is going anywhere...

Like a lot of people in this thread, it definitely felt more than a bit scatterbrained due to limited context we are given. The heavy amount of terminology isn't helping either. The show tries hide all that by overwhelming the viewers it with lotsa of bright colors, high quality animation and ridiculous over the top battles in hopes you forget you don't understand what's going on. It may work for some, but it left me feeling rather hollow when it's all said and done because there a lack of grounding to tie everything together and make the characters somewhat relateable. I like crazy, but "crazy" still needs to have a point for me for it to work.

I've give the show the standard 3 eps rule (unless the 2nd one turns out really bad) since I didn't hate the first episode, but It didn't leave me with much confidence in the plot for the long term or enthusiasm for the show in general.

Well, now that we got Matcha Green out of the way, it seems the story can start rolling for real. I don't know why it took two episodes though. They could have set this up in the first episode just fine.

Anyway, let's see what happens.

It will be cool if the next episode will feature different styles and themes depending on the prefecture the girls ended up in.

Because flashy animation is AWESOME (in a junk food kind of thing)!

I'm pretty sure the flashy animation isn't going to stop so that's besides the point.

Gotta love how Nozomi's team came up together at the end, also his dad was very cool allowing her to go on an adventure regardless of the dangers ahead. But I wonder how are they going to collect the stones since none of them is match for a mosa/best.

About the OP, I was expecting something with more action given the nature of anime, but the music performance approach is not bad at all.

Episode 2 was good, but not as strong as the first. The backstory of Nozomi and Masami was a little confusing, I'll have to go back and re-watch it.

Sucks that Masami is out of commission, she was my favorite girl. But at least Nozomi gets to go out and see the world.

The craziness was still up to 11, and I love it. Can't wait to see more.

Guess that Macha green stuff was just set up for the real plot. Now Nozomi's team is the focus.

Oh boy, it's time to roll! Things wrapped up nicely and Nozomi can finally kick off. Everything and everyone is full of energy. The music, the animation, etc. Regardless of how her journey will go, we can be sure to stay entertained.

Bwahaha, those mob characters...

Well, I still don't have much of a handle on the plot but the show has a nice charm to it and characters are likeable enough.
