Probably 1 of 2:

1/ Does Aki know that Rio is Haruto.

2/ Does Aki know that her existence was sort of the reason for her former family's breakdown.

In case I guessed right:

1/ is a yes (happened in vol.10)

2/ is a no, at least not yet, if ever.

Is there a point in hiding the truth from Aki? Haruto's just giving himself some unnecessary baggage.

She spent most part of her life blaming Rio and her father for abandoning her and her mother. Learning that the reason for the divorce was due to her mother's infidelity, and that she was born as a result of an affair would lead to a mental breakdown.

That's her problem, not Haruto's tbh. People spent their life shielding her from the truth that she started blaming others on issues that have nothing to do with them. Even Miharu was walking on eggshells when it comes to Haruto because she didn't want to upset Aki and to Aki's mind Miharu's reluctance to say anything about her brother around her has validated her blame on Haruto leaving them and breaking his promise to them. She's already old enough to know the truth, it's high time she face it instead of being protected from it. Sadly even Masato is more mature than her.

She already went postal when she convinced Gesuhisa and coerced Lilliana to kidnap Miharu though?

Even though she is already old enough to learn the truth, her current circumstances aren't suitable for that. What is the point of telling a little girl she is the reason her family broke apart when she already is in an unfamiliar place, surrounded by unfamiliar people and without even having any idea whether she will be able to go back to her world or not? I don't even like Aki, but I can see why Haruto chose to keep the truth to himself in this kind of situation. It would be a different subject if Miharu also believed in Aki's nonsense since that would harm his relationship with her, but since it isn't the case, there is no harm in bearing that burden for her.

Exactly. Rio at the time was trying to create distance between everyone due to his revenge goal at that time, so he was rather cold but he is not so heartless to literally gut her soul with that info drop on her.

The worse case, she believes him and she breaks. The best case, she thinks he lied to her. Neither case leads to an unstable unpredictable or untrusting pre-teen girl in a unforgiving foreign world (with monsters and slavers).

You may say 'grow up' for Aki but Rio WOULD lose sleep over it if it broke her so bad that she did something that got herself hurt or killed, even if self inflicted.

Honestly I expect when they finally get a chance to meet again, Aki will ask Rio the question about why their parents divorced. Her confusion is all based around the family separation, so if she sorts her feelings enough, she will come back to the point. "Why did it happen?"

The problem is that she doesn't want to know the answer because it might not be his fault. She may not know the truth, but she has to know, deep down, that a little boy had no control over their parents' divorce.

She wants to blame him and doesn't want anything to interfere with that. And like a few said before, she has internalized and rationalized it so that she believes Miharu's silence on the issue was agreement.

I support telling her for this reason: she is willing to cross too many lines for Takatrash's sake. She was willing to kidnap the closest person to her in a situation that would guaranteed make things worse. What would she do to betray Seirei no Tami if someone promised her it would get her everything she wanted? Aki has the potential to greatly harm not just the Forest Trio, but their entire village because she knows about their existence. So long as she can blame Haruto for all that is wrong in her life, she will justify any betrayal she makes and just cry when it fails later.

1. Of course that deep down she knows that Haruto has no saying about the divorce, but she was sad and lonely because her father and brother didn't come back no matter how hard she and her mother had it. Hating them was something she needed to do in order to keep herself together. Giving up on something that has supported you for so long even if you know that it is wrong is easier said that done. Not wanting to know the answer? Aki was never left to think an answer might exist in the first place and it was for her own sake.

2. Yes, some said before that Aki took Miharu's silence as agreement, but somebody saying something and saying something true is different. Whoever that keeps in mind that Miharu just stopped talking about Haruto in front of Aki after she snapped at her for it is more than able of knowing that Aki is perfectly aware of how Miharu feels about Haruto and that she was just being mindful of the landmine.

3. Miharu, Aki and Masato harming the spirit folk in any way is impossible, the were made to sign a magic contract forbidding them to talk about them when they arrived to the village.

4. Aki isn't willing to do absolutely everything for Takatrash's sake, when she helped Takatrash it wasn't for Takatrash's sake, it was because at that moment Takatrash was the only one left for her and the fear of being abandoned by even him broke her mind so much and triggered her abandonement trauma so badly that she ended up agreeing without thinking about it. The current Aki is completely aware now that she was the one who made things worser and she isn't willing to do it again. The current Aki is completely aware of the right answer not being to rely on Takatrash. Takatrash becoming a hikikomori that refuses to reflect about himself in the slightest is helping a lot to that awareness too. The main pillar for the current Aki isn't Takatrash but Masato, if she has to choose she will choose the answer that doesn't sadden him further.

Guys, cut her some slack. Mistakes were made and she has matured enough to realize and think her actions through, that should be enough for now, I say judging the current Aki should wait till she meets Haruto. Not Miharu but Haruto. It's obvious she'll apologize a ton to Miharu, but I'm interested in what exactly she'll apologize to Haruto for. If I was Haruto tho, I would have told her ages ago to shut her trap before I do her the honors in a very physical way.

She ain't Aizen Sousuke, she won't be putting anything in danger. The case of Takahisa was mainly cuz he told her she wasn't enough, that must have shocked her quite, but now she's not as spoiled and thoughtless as she was back then. If she starts pulling them bitch moves again after contemplating things, then she belongs in Reis's camp lol, but clearly she won't.

By the way is the release date of volume 20 revealed? It should be released in summer and generally the release dates are revealed two months before the date so I thought it will be released on August 1st. I guess it may be september now. What are your thoughts/expectations about the next volume? What will Cretia Family give Rio as reward? Who do you think will be on the cover?

The author said in the afterword of the last volume that it would be Rio's and Aisia's time to shine so for me the candidates are Aisia and Satsuki who hasn't got a cover in ages either.

Takahisa is my main concern in all this disaster, Renji is a puppet with way too much ego, and Erika is batshit crazy but she´s pretty much a nuke wainting to go of at any time and that´s what got me worried. Aki is so much more mature than Takahisa, she knows she did something awful, she knows she has to change and is trying but Takahisa is a child that refuses to admit he was wrong, the moment he Awaken he´s going to try to steal Miharu back againg and try to kill Rio and the gods know Reiss is going to take every advantage from that.

I think Aishia and Rio will be on the cover, maybe Erica too. What do you think will happen? Rio's identity and past are suspicious to others so it may be revealed. I wonder will Aishia's 'forgotten' memories come back or will she get power up? If Rio's identity gets revealed will he stop using changing his hair color? His different hair color will get attention. About romance, I don't know what may happen and I can't see anything. It is going to be Miharu or Celia probably (which I don't like and the harem got too big and has unnecessary members...) I hope Rio's relationship with Liselotte, Christina, Satsuki and Aishia will improve. The author didn't show Liselotte's returning journey but I hope it will be shown even if a bit (kinda summary of the journey)

I think I already said all of this in some previous post but I have thought from the moment that Rio began to use a disguise and a false name that he would be discovered eventually. This kind of things always gets discovered sooner of later, Rio's past isn't that impossible to trace after all. There are already two people called Lucius and Celia who are said to have known him since his childhood, if you dig into their past and look into their acquaintances a boy called Rio with a lot of similitudes with Haruto Amakawa will appear, anyone can connect the dots. With Reis already aware of his real identity the lifespan of Rio's disguise became even more limited, it is completely unknown when he will leak that information to whoever, it makes much more sense for Rio to be reveal it himself and at least have him the initiative. This is a quote of Sebas, from saikyou no degarashi ouji, "an exposure isn't the same that a reveal", I think it suits perfectly Rio's current situation. About the magic tool, yes, maybe he stops using it, he can't spent his whole life disguised either, even more having Gouki's group with him, I don't think there won't be anybody who doesn't think it is strange that just one of the Yagumo group has silver hair.

I don't think it will just Miharu and/or Celia ending but I agree about the unnecessary members, I seriously can't see a meaning for Sayo's and Komomo's existences, in the page 164 of this thread I already made my prediction for the next volume and I explained there too how Rio sees the heroines right now.

If it gets a True Harem end, then MC Harem would be quite big if my count is right (bigger than MC's from other series).

I will be really disappointed if it doesn't. I mean if you are not going to make it true harem stop throwing girls at MC. That's my thought anyway.
