I'm not actually opposed to having more developed combat mechanics in a Hitman game. It is nice to occasionally have your character be able to pull off more badass direct combat stunts.
However Hitman STILL needs to be heavily based around being stealthy and tricky. This trailer seems to emphasize a bit to much the action component. If 47 is going to do any action, it should be stealthy action. |

Intriguing material. If this game retains its predecessors' tendency to ding your 'score' for extraneous kills, it is fortunate that the player will still have the option for non-lethal takedowns (what we see at ~4:45 looks like a chokehold for unconsciousness)... of course, the demo player proceeds to throw that out the window a few minutes later, then goes outright loud (which, we understand, was done for showing off aspects of the gameplay mechanics). Which brings me to wonder if that section can be played without killing anybody... perhaps a subsequent video will illustrate that, much like how there was one for Deus Ex: HR which compared 'loud' and 'quiet' ways of tackling a situation.

Well let's hope that section itself was the tutorial to get in the mood. I would prefer to go all silent and spare the cops if possible.
I do like how that even if your in a disguise it's not a 100% and you have to go to the donuts to play the part. Man if it was only that easy..... |

Impressive video; good to see that the tango gallery in this game is an equal-opportunity affair. I can't be the only one who also saw an excuse to get in a few WH40K nods ('Hey, is that the Adepta Sororitas...?')

Ugh, I hope this game doesn't cater simply to ADHD people who only love bang bang bang with guns.
Hitman is suppose to be about a man who takes out his target discreetly without anyone even noticing. Why can't we have that these days? |

Before commenting on this, I will first point to this GameInformer article containing a trailer which explains the Saints (and even assimilates some of the debate about their appearance).
I imagine this footage helps reassure folks like Roger Rambo who hope the game hasn't forsaken its stealthy roots.

Good news everyone! David Bateson will be returning as the voice of Agent 47.
In celebration, here's the literal trailer of Hitman Absolution.
