Oh jeez, I thought I was the only one. It's really off-putting and I hope they never use it again

But yeah, the ED makes up for it. The full version is even better!

Curious isn't it?
I don't think that there's anything strange about it at all. Precure is the premier franchise for little girls, so if you want to extend outside of the standard otaku fare, it's a plum role. Also, a voice actress' persona can just be set up for publicity purposes rather than her true personality.

Precure shows start on the first Sunday in February, so the number of episodes is set - either 52 or 53 minus the number of Sunday holiday specials when they don't air. So 48 is common, but it can run more than that.

It's going to play every time Makoto does her act unless they write some new songs for her. I'd say prepare to hear it another 10 times or so, with one of them being an extended version.

It's not the same without the CG dance though.

Nah, that was the work of the monsters. However, somebody did run away from Makoto...

Speaking about songs, anyone thinks that the ED delivers a giveaway hint about Cure Sword being the possible lead Cure?

I mean by just looking at the starting shots from the ED she's positioned more in the front row than the rest.

The lead is still Heart. Precure has a pretty strict formula for leads, and Dokidoki isn't going to shift from it.

Sword is in the front because she's the only one with a microphone (it's not part of her regular costume). The other Cures are just lip-syncing to her song.

4Tran gave a concise answer and just to add....

There have been four PreCure shows that aired in 49 episodes:
- Futari Wa Pretty Cure (1st series)
- Futari Wa Pretty Cure Splash * Star
- Yes! Pretty Cure 5
- HeartCatch PreCure

Another three PreCure series that ran with 48 episodes:
- Yes! Pretty Cure 5 GoGo
- Suite PreCure
- Smile PreCure

Futari Wa Pretty Cure Max Heart, as for the moment, is the shortest running title within the whole franchise consisting of 47 episodes.

And, for the time being, Fresh Pretty Cure is the longest running show in the franchise being composed of 50 episodes.

Usually the average for the total episode count gravitates between 48 to 49, so it's safe to assume that Doki Doki will last up to either 48 or 49 episodes.

Well, she is the one with "Idol" setting...
Of course she is the one singing in front while the other are her background dancer.

Eh~ Like Precure was ever "realistic".
White definitely would have been a lot more........ enjoyable

No you're not alone. Japanese viewers have been making fun of it too.

Makoto gotta work hard on her singing if she wants her song to reach out to whoever she wants.

Oh dear. I feel kind of sorry for Makoto's VA now.
I wonder if I were a small child, would I find the stupid stiff crane pose and the FLY! bit inspiring or would I still find it silly? The show is for kids, so I wonder if they like it. It's pretty far off from the dances in the endings, which are always fun, even if I don't like the show, PreCure does the best job when it comes to CGi dance sequences.

Well, frankly, Makoto's voice actor isn't exactly in the better group of voice actors out there.

For the episode 6 : loved the twist at the end from the start of the show.
It's a little strange for me. O_o
I began to watch precure from HC and it's the first time they do that from the beginning.

Going back to episode 3, When Rikka transformed into Cure Diamond, it's the first time that a monster was got rid of while the transformation background music is still going on.

Watched episode 6:

Mana is glad to once again get close to her idol. And Cure Sword transformation is one of the coolest I've seen so far. Makoto is finally convinced to be friends with the other cures, but before the handshake can happen - it's a cliffhanger! Next week should be interesting, it's only episode 6, but looks like there would already be an encounter with the "final boss".

With any luck, they're going to spend the entire season thinking about how to defeat the final boss.

I had to look up who she is and yeah... have heard her quite a few times and have never been impressed. When they revealed Makoto was an idol after they already released the seiyuu for the main cast, I'd already concluded that not casting Kotobuki Minako for Makoto instead was a huge missed opportunity

To be fair to Makoto's VA I kind of like her speaking voice and don't have a problem with the song apart from the FURAAAAAi. It's like someone told her to scream but hold back at the end. I think the idea was to get kids to do the crane pose and sing with her at events.
