Gangstas and hos

A mirror request, perhaps. So as the title suggests, I'm looking for manga/anime featuring prostitutes and/or yakuza, though I expect most yakuza manga also feature prostitution to some extent anyway. I don't think there are many anime with either, but have a go.

As far as prostitution goes, it doesn't need to be the central idea of the manganime or the main character who is a prostitute, as long as in some form, a character is coming to terms with his/her status as a sexual object and maybe that search for freedom from inhibition or personal fulfillment or some other silly romanticised idea. Examples include the brothel episodes of Samurai Champloo, Deep Love.
Though it doesn't necessarily need to be 'prostitution' exactly; it can be any sort of sexual submission of one character to another/others so long as the focus is not necessarily on the sex but on the characters involved in it. Examples: Kimi no Na wo Yobeba (though I'd prefer stuff that isn't wholly pornographic in nature), Perfect Blue (think the TV rape scene and aftermath), Bradherley's Coach, the porn actress in the Sanpol and Krezol chapter of Keep on Vibrating, Saki in Platform from Hiroki Endo's Tanpenshuu, or even something like the first chapter of What a Wonderful World.

For yakuza manganime, though, I'd prefer it be centred upon yakuza dealings and the mafia world itself (e.g. Buronson-Ikigami works), though something where organised crime is often featured but not necessarily central is fine too (e.g. Monster). Something where yakuza dealings are only sporadically touched upon or where a happenstance character is a yakuza and such would be no good, though.
Here I'm using yakuza as a term just because it's cool and awesome and such. Recommendations of any work involving organised crime/mafia connexions/&c. are appreciated, even if they're not Japones.

If you haven't anything to recommend but would feel bad for having read all the way down here without fruit, a third recommendation request would just be for any anime episodic in nature outside of gag comedy: anything from stylised action-adventure (Bebop, Champloo) to character-focused iyashikei (Aria, YKK) to the traveller genre (Kino, Mushishi, Natsume Yuujinchou), so long as each episode is standalone. And I guess short story arcs (Mononoke, Bakemonogatari) are fine too.

Stuff I'm reading/watching, read/watched, or plan to read/watch, for reference:
Manga - Anime

Hm, first story (4 episodes in total I think) of Aoi Bungaku kinda fits I think.

Hmm, hookers and the mob...someone is looking for a good time .

For the seedy underbelly of Japan, look no further than the amazing works of Yoshihiro Tatsumi. Various stories scattered across his various amazing collections deal with pimps and hos (none of his stories are particularly pleasant, though).

After looking through the list of titles animated in Aoi Bungaku, I'll definitely be looking into it. If these first four episodes are the Ningen Shikkaku adaptation, then - though the idea isn't exactly what I'm looking for - that's the sort of dark mood that fits (though Dazai at his darkest might be a bit much).

Judging from what I've heard, I'm sure Michiko fits well into the third category too, so I'll throw it onto my backlog. I'm more looking for mobsters in a more... 'serious' setting, though, if one can call it that.

Nonono, I'm not looking for whores and yakuza in themselves, but rather the possibilities for characterisation that accompany them... or so I'd like to say.
But trust me, I'm normal. d(-ε-)z

I haven't read any of Tatsumi's short stories, but I've been considering reading through Tatsumi's ouevre, if not just because of his immortal status and name and whatnot. As of now I only have his memoir on my bookshelf because I've been having trouble in deciding which short story collection to get first... care to offer any guidance? ;)
