Soijiro, like I said before, is more of a prince than Kyoshiro in personality. (I swear, that boy has no idea how to treat a lady. >_>) He's cute with Tarouette, but.. no I don't like how she treats him. "REFRESHMENTS - NYA!" made me wanna shot her... repeatedly.

I actually think that was for her character more than it was fanservice for us shoujo ai/yuri/girls' love fans. She asked Kuu if she felt more energetic, which was adorable and all, but I think it was to show how ... "childish" she could be. (Ne, my wording is bad.)

Yes, yes, the Kyoshiro/Kuu moment made me into a Kyokuu shipper! I didn't like it at the beginning but I guess I'm a sucker for shoujo bubbles.

Here is my random guess/theory.

Maybe AAs used to be together to form one AA. However, somehow they were spilt. Setsuan and Kaon are the arms sword. Tarurotte is the right leg sword. Then maybe the blond hair woman in the op will be the left leg sword. I think that Kuu might be the center part which were seal. We can see the sign on ep1 when Kyoshiro open Kuu's uniform. Also the scene in the opening which we see Kuu hang in a cross shape and AA behind her. That's why Kaon talked about AA to Kuu. I get the feeling that Kuu's AA might be more powerful over the other AAs. Maybe that's the reason that everyone want Kuu.

Good point. The OP scene seems to be key to a lot of things -- what Kuu (might) really be, or general standpoint in the story. Another point might be that she, like Watureisha (I totally spellt that wrong.), was actually re-incarnated. That would explain why she only DREAMS about Kazuya (Kyoshiro's Nii-san) and doesn't actually recall who he is.

I agree. Setsuna very much seems to have a precious innocence about her. She's entirely devoted to Kyoshiro, and I feel he could easily mold her into whatever he wants. I thought it was possible foreshadowing when she told Kuu in the bath that she'd do any for Kyoshiro. Anything.

And that TOTALLY doesn't hint that Kyohiro MIGHT be the bad guy. **shot** But I agree, it just might have been foreshadowing. At the moment it's just entirely up to speculation.

This reflects the opposite styles and attitudes the masters mold their swords.

Mika wields Kaon whether way she wants through use of ruthless force and viciousness, as to refine her into the ultimate sword that cannot break. Therefore, it explains the tests involving lasers and missiles shot at Kaon; quite unbearable for both Kaon to endure and Himiko to watch.

Kyoshiro wields Setsuna through use of willing submission from her, influenced I GUESS greatly by passive manipulation and infatuation. Kyoshiro sees Setsuna as his sword no more no less, treating her as his precious weapon with finesse. Setsuna does EVERYTHING to come in handy for Kyoshiro.

Taurette looks to me she doesn't want to be wielded or sticked to a master, therefore, I GUESS it explains why she's constantly attacking schools to replenish her Eternal Mana by eating the energy of the students.

Despite the fact many find Tarurotte to be annoying as hell, I can't help but to feel sorry for her. She almost seems like the "little sister" of the AA's. Destroying everything and killing people for the sake of attention, to be noticed, recognition etc. She's definitely a uh... free spirit? Doing what she pleases regardless of consequences, and not having a wielder. I'm curious if the fact she doesn't have a master is what makes her so out of control compared to the other two. All three AA's have totally difference personalities, and Taruotte is way off the spectrum on one end. Did something horrible happen to her to make her exhibit so much anger towards everything? She acts extremely spoiled, yet was the only alone character so far until she met Sojiro. Maybe she's just simply a homicidal manic.

I never thought she was going it for attention, I honestly just thought she was doing it because she thought it was fun. But now that you bring it up, her model character Nekoko's past was really quite tragic, so there probally IS a reason she's the way she is. Or maybe I'm just asking too much? Oh, well. . .

I don't think it was mentioned. I'm not entirely sue why it's so important to Kuu, but that is a thought. I'm actually thinking that she liked the uniform because reminded her of a princess's dress, but of course, I'm going to naturally assume that it's sub-concious and she actually "attended" (If they allowed a 'sword' to "attend" the school that is...) Joto Academy along with Kazuya, which is why it's such a big deal for her. Keep in mind, his outfit was quite simmilar to Kyoshiro's and her's.

You mean that she's something in the middle between the Naruto complex (mayhem to get attention) and the Gaara complex (homicidal carnage out of self love)

Thanks for that. I was feeling out of the loop. Kazuya's uniform is white in contrast to the black it seems the males of that Academy wear. I'm not sure if that holds any significance or not. Speaking of him though:

In the first episode Kyoshiro noticed a small light little above Kuu's chest. He definitely knew then that he came across something special that's inside Kuu.

That short clip of Kaon was really sad... Looks like Mika just dumped her in some room after the experiment.

I'm not surprised by Mika's actions. Honestly, I don't think I'll be surprised if she does anything sadistic since it's so much a part of her nature (although she might try something really nasty later one and I might end up eating my own words)

It seems very odd to me that nothing is mentioned about Kuu's family. Kuu's always thinking about how "empty" she is and all that, but never mentions anything about missing her parents or siblings. And if she had a family wouldn't they be worried about her after her school was partically (or completel) destroyed? So does that mean she lives by herself?

Meh, I'm just thinking too much.

Kuu could be the reason that big bro died and that's why he's so pissed and Kuu's shocked. Or he informed her that she's an AA too. Not human. Just a mere tool like Setsuna.

We're 1/3 of the way thru this series, hopefully someone will clue her in soon and we'll see some plot progression. Plus, that blonde hasn't been given proper screen time yet.

No, no. I noticed that too. That's where I got the reincarnation idea from, she doesn't mention family in the slightest. I see no reason for Kyoshiro, Kaon, Himiko or Setsuna to ask her about it, so it would have normally been mentioned by now. It's rather suspicious... <.< >.>

I actually heard that the Steel Angels were the original models for the AAs. I'm thinking that Joto Academy is where the AAs/Steel Angels were created originally, which is why it's so important.
