Whelp, looks we are in for another 10 episodes season:
https://www.reddit.com/r/anime/comme...mr&sh=763b61c2 Guess Re:Zero is gonna remain anomaly here among recent adaptations from Kado, even though Konosuba sold almost twice as much. Then again this could be a stratagy to make it a yearly thing. In anycase I suppose this doesn't really hurt anything, as Konosuba is ultimately a comedy about Kazuma's misadventures, rather than a woven multi-layer tale that needs x amounts of episodes to have a good cut off point. There not much of plot in the first place beyond the gags. Last edited by Applehell; 2016-12-21 at 22:12. |

Episode 1:
YES, it's back! Very entertaining episode. I love how the show went with humor again from the start and didn't waste time reintroducing the characters. The trial was also very amusing as Kazuma got accused of a number of things and almost got executed until Darkness saved him. What an episode. Really funny funny cliffhangerish ending as well. The OP song is decent although I personally liked the first season's theme song. Can't wait for the rest! Edit: oh yeah, I noticed that they introduced season 2 with Star Wars-like narrative. Clever.

Yeah Konosuba is back!
The start with that Star Wars intro was pure gold for me, really nice idea. The trial hilarious but it feels kind of short for some reason, maybe they skipped something? and then Darkness saving the day. Second season has the same atrocidus character design and bad animation, is not a complaint really because it just make it mopre hilarous and funny. The ending... meh, wasn't that good I prefer the one from season 1. |

That was good fun .
I loved all the time spent on assassinating Kazuma's character even though it had literally nothing to do with the charges put against him . Maybe a very vague connection with him being a terrorist and inflicting terror upon the female citizens of that city? Not much that could be said in his defense considering....he really was being a scumbag in a lot of those incidents. There is context sure, but in the end....he did all those things with mostly a lack of pure intentions. Darkness is the hero of this episode. Put herself out there and gave up the anonymity she had been enjoying to this point. And good on her. She decided that her friend and comrade's life was worth more. Though it is a bit worrying since that lord is pretty creepy. Loved the Star Wars text crawl and the overall tone of the episode. It really was just Konosuba .

Probably would have also had a more determined defence if it wasn't for his unsavory acts. Kazuma isn't a simply pure-hearted hero, he has his flaws. I'm not surprised the people he stole underwear from weren't willing to give up their lives for him. He absolutely had reasons to be upset. But he also shouldn't have been surprised. Like with everyone in his party he has big positives and big negatives. He's done a lot of good but also given a lot of people reasons to hesitate. If he was a more straight up hero then that scene would have been more tragic with everyone turning their backs rather than comical.

Loved the show as always, but it seems like the animation is just a little coarser or something. Also, before there was always just a little room for the desperate to insist that Aqua had panties on, but this episode made certain to completely blast all possibility out of the water. Of course we all knew that if there really were people who insisted she was wearing something were just lying anyway, but it was kind of fun to have that infinitesimally slim possibility.
