This episode was a very relaxing, mostly humorous episode - a followup of episode 16, if you might say. The parts with Kuuya (can finally speak her name! lol) and Hakuoro weren't too shabby. I felt the rate of speaking was a little fast, either because they wanted to get all the "in the beginning" speeches done with asap, or Kuuya is just a very fast speaker.

The humor parts people have already stated, so I won't go into anymore details.

9/10. Not perfect for reasons I go into the spoilers for. You have been warned. >_>

Spoiler:

All in all, spendid show. Just one scene I had particular beef with. The final seconds of the show hints a spy (a rather one at that. It rose over the trees!) and return to battle-excitement - if the preview didn't, that is. Also in the last scene with Kuuya and Hakuoro, I didn't see a point to dissolving to a shot of Hakuoro standing on top of the rock while she was telling her tale. Oh well. :|

I really do find it to be a great show, too. Out of all the shows I got into this past spring season, I am enjoying this one and Ouran High Host Club the most. Haruhi Suzumiya is my 3rd best pick, another really good show.

As everyone said before, this was just a wonderful episode. They made Touka beyond cute in the episode, and Karura kept staring and smirking at her. This episode just had so many good points in it.

Kuuya mentioned that her tribe had some sort of secret power where they could stand up the world. I wonder if it will be a dark power, which Hakuoro and the gang will have to defeat?

Next week's episode looks like we will be seeing Karura's people.

The end of this episode with the dark monster is interesting. I wonder if that is just one beast, or one of many?

All the female characters in the episode just owned. They pretty much pawned every single guy they faced.

I guess in this scene, Kuuya left already, and Hakuoro is contemplating her words, hence standing there staring out in the distance.

I liked that scene anyway, felt that they were finally giving some focus (even if a little) on the side characters. And looks like next episode will fulfil my wish to see some Karura development. Hopefully.

IMO it shows that Kuuya has somehow become very very special to Hakuoro~ for him to be thinking of what she said after she had gone. I think a major link between them will be revealed before this series ends. (And we know its not sex.)

Everyone's focusing on Touka!! Dont forget Aruruu.. she was the epitome of cuteness with her reaction at seeing Gacha, and then saying No in her aruruu-way, and then cheerfully saying that Oboro had no honey. You know, I'm 95% sure that she would have handed Gacha over if Oboro did have honey.

Nice episode, but I would not say its the best. For a peacetime episode, still lacking in insightful development of characters; I think the last episode did better.

Hmm.. with yesy's sub, has any noticed that the character voices has kind of deterioated? Especially Hakuoro's the sound quality sounds too sharp; almost screechy.. I dont think its VA, sounds like the encoding itself. Dont know if its the show or its my speakers. Anyone?

Didn't really notice anything about the sound quality being off.

I do really like this series. This epic fantasy series has me in the mood for watching Scrapped Princess again.

Add another one for Touka obsessive-screencapping here. Her expressions around the bunny-thing were priceless.

Especially when she was waiting her turn for the bunny-thing to cuddle around her, and when it ran away and her expression was so sad.

Haha, now Oboro has been defeated by every single member in Hakuoro's team:

-Hakuoro punched him
-Benawi owned him several times
-Kurou beat him once
-Touka beat the shit out of him
-The twins got him drunk and date-raped him
-Eruruu made him a disgusting medicine
-Aruruu called his bluff
-The sheer force of Yuzuha's moemoe disagreement knocked him down
-I lied. Karura hasn't even touched him, but I think we all know what would happen if she does

Nice ep...bit of humor after the shikeripetim story. Good to see a different side of Touka too

Kuuya accuses Hakuoro of building a harem and laziness; more digs at Hakuoro's expense. I also liked how she tried to remove his mask.

That would make sense actually. Picture Yuzuha not knowing the complete truth of her brother, that Oboro is a person who takes lives. In a way, having that knowledge could devastate Yuzuha, and having mousie kick the bucket with Oboro's katana would add further salt to the wound. At the same time, that theory doesn't stand much ground; where does she think her brother goes all the time? Certainly not picking flowers. There's no way for certain to know what she thinks of her brother, but from what we get from episode 17, it's not a very positive one.

Right, I just thought of that. First, Hakuoro was relieved to end the conversation the first night. Then, I suppose after preoccupying himself with the story of gods and such, he wanted to know more. Since Kuuya can babble on about it, he must find her facinating now. Contemplating on her words while standing on the rock makes total sense. But if you take away the visuals and just listen to it, the vocals blend so perfectly that you wouldn't know the difference. That's probably where my confusion took root.

I've noticed it towards the end of episode 17 and a vast majority of episode 16. I have the RAW version of the episodes as well and they have no audio playback issues. My guess is Yesy fansubs forgot to calibrate the audio levels when exporting to AVI because it sounds like some of the voices when they are raised hit the yellow or red zone.

I've noticed this too. And contrary to how you might feel, I'm starting to pity and empathize with Oboro. If I get nothing but beat downs and negativity everyday, and if my sister hates me, I'd probably start overdrinking too myself. :/

What was with the shot at Your Mom? They seem to be pretty good, at least with that other show that they do. I guess they did something to piss off Yesy. I admit it was funny though.

Aruruu doesn't drink it quite that often. I'll drop the sore throat thing if you know what I mean. But, for hangover. Because somehow someone gave Aruruu the idea that mixing honey with alcohol would be an rather tasty thing to down. Thus when Aruruu came to the doc the next day to help relieve that "headache," well, after hearing Aruruu's story, hehe... Think of it as one of those not too happy cures whipped up by the doc. Not that honey is supposed to take the bitterness out. It's got to taste bad. Supposably hasn't been a problem since. ...well, for Aruruu anyway.

She know if she didnt use harsh words, he'd have skewered it in no time.
Plus, I don't recall her saying she didnt understand him- she said simply responded to his request to "understand" (basically accept) that the gachatara had to be killed for its liver and she refused to do so. She was not playing dumb.

Nice Episode...
Excellent... for being so relaxing... all the series now are too tense... too bad it had all the stupid kamisama stuff... I can't even pronounce some of those names...
@ Srin Tuar
Yup... but you know I have to wonder what the heck sneaky person whispered to Oboro and Hakuoro...
Well I guess we'll find out eventually ...

This show is pretty interesting. I thought i was boring at the beginning.

Everytime I see Yuzuha I am a bit sad. She suffer from illness and also blind. Really sad. This episode is OK. I more prefer episode with battle. Especially Karura in battle.
She remind me of Elle from Shadow Skill.
