On one hand, out of the three supposed main characters, Athrun had the most screentime.

On the other, most screentime != main character, and vice versa.

Athrun's screen time consisted of the creators almost-intentionally messing with a well-established character, and while Gundam Seed Destiny can hardly be called a comedy, Athrun was definitely its buttmonkey.

Not exactly a honor a main character wish to be bestowed upon.
