Very disappointed with General Motors and their CEO, Mary Barra, for closing plants in Ohio, Michigan and Maryland. Nothing being closed in Mexico & China. The U.S. saved General Motors, and this is the THANKS we get! We are now looking at cutting all @GM subsidies, including....

....for electric cars. General Motors made a big China bet years ago when they built plants there (and in Mexico) - don’t think that bet is going to pay off. I am here to protect America’s Workers!
hahaha...

My meeting in Argentina with President Xi of China was an extraordinary one. Relations with China have taken a BIG leap forward! Very good things will happen. We are dealing from great strength, but China likewise has much to gain if and when a deal is completed. Level the field!
A big leap forward? With China? Seriously?

After Trump announced on Sunday that China has removed tariffs on American cars, investors quickly realized that it was all smoke and lies since while the two countries are currently in negotiation, a deal has yet to be agreed upon.

The Dow Jones industrial average rose about 400 points after Trump's initial statement, only to fall 800 points after Trump himself admitted in a tweet that the deal wasn't done yet (and probably never will). He continued to call himself a "tariff man" as if that was something to be proud of. According to the president, America is making billions in tariffs but that's not how tariffs work. At all. Prices for resources like steel and aluminium are rising and returning to American businesses and customers alike as costs, resulting in a net loss for America. Of course someone who never had a successful business might not be aware of that fact.

In my eyes though, i don't think a deal with China will be realize anytime soon, if anything, there is way too much issues to address for it to even gone to negotiation phase, much less a deal, there will be some truce like this at most temporarily

I agree. Xi Jinping doesn't need to address anything at the moment other than generating a few sound bytes and can just wait out Trump's presidency. He can just wait for some other US president who may favor a more amicable approach toward China. Unlike Trump, Xi Jinping doesn't have to worry about term limits.

Trump makes a lot of noise and proclaims how great he is at *inserttaskofthedayhere* then finds out he doesn't understand how that works and frantically tries to backpedal and cover his ass.

*rinse and repeat until 2020*
